You people ripping on Hocmom should be ashamed. She is a person who has volunteered alot of time. If you have never done it you should try!

As far as the B1 to A and A to B1 thing goes, I think the board really messed up and should make it right, they have time to do that.

Like I told my son about tryouts. If you want to make the A team you make sure you're not a "Bubble Player". My son being the youngest peewee, I knew he was a bubble player and he didn't make the team. He was upset, but he understood why this happened and he is working hard to make sure he is not in this situation next year.

The benifit to my son is that he gets to be one of the leaders on the team and he is apart of the special teams units. This is something the other "Bubble Players" who made it will most likely not be a part of this year. Even though I think my son can do better than some of the kids that were selected I believe my son is in the best situation for him.

I agree, we don't allow siblings of coaches, nor first cousins. 2nd cousin is OK... We also don't allow guys that live near or work with the coach. We will allow the coach's wife to judge, as she pretty much does the opposite of what he wants, which is the goal of our tryout process. Just sayin...

News Flash....NSHA has been witnessed pushing Hocmom around the area of Lake drive and Lexington ave. Both suspects are considered armed with hockey ambitions and dangerous. Please use caution when approaching and understand they are looking for their own best interest. We all are looking for a safe return of our most valuable hockey instituations of inspiration and a welcome home celebration when returned. Good luck Lakeville hockey if they make it to the south metro.

Real mature......I have to believe you have never been on the board or rolled up your sleeves to get the jobs done at your association. Yep your the one that probably sits in the corner bashing everything, "Coaches stink, my kid should be on that team, the board doesn't know what their doing". But of course when elections come around you are no where to be found. Pretty easy to peg you and I don't even know you. LOL!

Well, in regards to coaching...I guess we don't know how to roll up our sleeves and get a job done every year after year...I need association board members to help me understand why every year kids are displaced by talent level and we need to bring team chemistry into helping all skill levels. Thank God I don't have children and especially in hockey; I'll be mature and forgive you. Does anyone know the outcome in Lakeville? How was it resolved for the association members?

Where is MN hock during situations like this? Maybe GreyBeard can help with this question....while I have to read Mr. Tearse's article within Let's play hockey about lame duck ways to overcome tryouts...what is MN Hock doing to help associations prevent situations like this from happening? This goes beyond the standard "move up policy" for Bantams. Good luck to the now B1 player after this mess.

The route to take is the grievance procedure. First question to ask did the association follow their published policies and procedures and by-laws in the situation?
If the association did not follow their policies and procedures or by-laws, then it is up to the individual to file a grievance with the association first. Then if the association either denies or refuses to hear the grievance then the person can appeal to the District Director and that is when Mn Hockey can get involved. The whole process is spelled out in Article 6 appeals in the Mn Hockey handbook. In all cases it is the responsibility of the person to prove that there were violations.

If no one does anything then it is the same as nothing happened and if someone does push the issue past the association then the association will also have to follow up with proof they did follow procedures when the District Director is involved.

my gosh leave this alone, how many people have not seen a similiar situation at their try-outs? There are always issues for the last three spots on every team and usually 5-6 players who could fill these spots. What has happened is unfortunate, but it is clear to everyone on this team as well within the association. Would you really want to be this player that was brought up after try=outs? If the people in this association or the parents do not have the sense to do the right things, too bad. It's very sad what our kids sports have come to. How many times have you attended a try-out and you have some parent calling the next day to try and get juniour in another group since he feels junior is getting "jobbed."

Most of these kids will never play a whiff of college let alone HS, too bad their helicoptor parents or try-out "agents" can't see this. This stuff will always be there, a by-product of today's system and kids sports. KARMA will take over for this family

A nice fundraising opportunity: sell decorative buckets with association emblems on the side, along with instructions to fill with sand and firmly bury head.

Thanks GreyBeard for the insight, although the process is outlined clearly by you, many individuals would not attempt for fear of future retribution within one's association...that's life lesson #101.

This just in...Hocmom is still on the loose and is being joined by other board members or has taken on a new identity. Intentions still unknown at this point but senseless posts can be expected.
