I think this should be one of the best playoffs of any section. If Sartell beats LF on the road next week, I think those two will flip flop. Fergus Falls at #7 scares me.. They seem to be coming on lately and will be a tough out for QF matchup

Playoffs will be great as always in this section. I agree the Otters will be a tough out. Apollo appears to be beatable after watching them vs the Otters and seeing they had some very tight games as of late vs 6A opponents.
I am looking forward to some good section 6A playoff action.
Go Otters!

What is the date of the seed meeting? It looks like there are a few games that could decide the outcome left to play. I would say the only automatic is Apollo at 1. Cathedral will be 2 with a win tonight. I see Tech locked at 5. What happens to Sartell if Fergus beats them tonight? To many "what if's" I guess. This section is so much fun to follow!

Wednesday, Febuary 10th is the Date for seeding!!! Little Falls and Sartell playing the night before, could possibly determine #3 and #4 seed if Sartell wins at Fergus .

Well it happened! Fergus beats Sartell. Now it gets goofy!
1. Apollo- Locked
2. Cathedral- Locked
3. Little Falls- Can lose this spot with loss to Sartell
4. Fergus Falls- Slow start with drama. Now looking dangerous!
5. Sartell- Even if they win in LF they might only get to 4.
6. Tech- Could actually be 4,5, or 6. Swept by Sartell but Swept Fergus.
7. Alex- Next 2 years maybe.
8. River Lakes- 9 seed in AA 8 seed in A.
9. Wadena- 1st round win and the could play their former stud scorer!
10. Prairie Centre- Split with Brecken won the last meeting so here they are.
11. Breckenridge- That drive would suck if they ever got a home playoff game!
Now to get the 3 thru 6 seed is really gonna take some pretty good campaigning! Maybe the coaches need to watch Fox News and CNN this weekend or call Trump for some advice!

I never considered the Flyers a contender but after watching them in the 2 OT playoff win vs the Otters I started smelling an Apollo upset might be in the cards. In fact I believe I stated that in an earlier post just after that game.
Congrats to the Flyers and good luck vs Cathedral.

You have to respect the work and effort that Little Falls has put forth in many games this season with it finally paying off with their Semifinal victory. They played Apollo extremely tough the first time around, taking them to overtime and they absolutely brought it yesterday. Apollo is the hardest working team I have seen this year but last night Little Falls outworked them and 100% earned their victory. The irony to me is that it seemed LF won the game using Apollo's play style over the last few years: blocking shots and congesting the middle, capitalizing on their scoring opportunities, winning special teams, and outstanding goaltending. That is a perfect recipe for success and LF was able to execute.
In the nightcap Cathedral absolutely dominated Sartell and blew them away with their speed and physical play. That was the most aggressive I've seen Cathedral play in a long time and I was extremely impressed. Sartell simply had no answer for their speed. The key for Cathedral seemed to be their ability to roll 3 deep forward lines that SArtell could not match up with. They may not have quite the same depth in their D core but they have 3 forward lines and an extremely solid goalie that has the ability to steal a game for them when he's on. They definitely have a chance to make some noise as the 5 seed at state IF they don't overlook Little Falls and bring it again on Thursday night. The atmosphere is going to be fantastic at the Mac and Little Falls has what it takes to knock off the Crusaders and head to state. I guarantee this will be an exciting back and forth game.
Prediction: 4-2 CHS

Blueline, Thanks a ton for the nice recap of both games. Well done!

Congrats to the Flyers and good luck vs Cathedral.
After watching Hibbing dominate the Flyers in the first game of the season, I would have bet $1000 bucks they wouldn't make the 6A final. One of my good friends lives in LF and before the season he told me it was gonna be a tough year for the team. Even when they were piling up wins and playing some good teams close I still thought they had no chance, but boy was I wrong about this team.
Heck of a job by Couture and his players; just a fantastic transformation over the course of the season. Best of luck to them in the title game!

Three things:
1. First game of the year for LF and lately, they have started slow.
2. Goalie situation was not sorted out.
3. Top D man was not playing.
I guarantee LF would love to try that game again. Not saying they would beat Hibbing, but I tend to think it would be a much different game now.

Agreed. Hibbing couldn't beat Apollo, but the Flyers were able to. I think the outstanding play of their goaltender has just infused the entire team with confidence. Great to see them make it to the title game in what is probably the deepest section in Class A. (Apologies to 2A.)

After attending this game on Saturday I feel like this analysis is right on. I have never seen a team block so many shots like Little Falls did. I'm not sure if this is how they played all year, but it was impressive to see all of the kids giving up their body's by sliding all over the ice in hopes of blocking shots. They also did a fantastic job of keeping in front of the Apollo net in the offensive zone to take away the vision of the goalie.
It felt like Apollo was the better team. However, the team defense, goaltending, and unselfishness for the Flyers was impressive. They always looked to make the extra pass and capitalized on almost all of their few scoring chances. Truly a cohesive team mentality.
