Just don't let them take our FG posts...

The Vikings need those or else they don't have a chance

Good one Empire.

OK, I think the bloom will come off the rose that was the NDSU victory and the Gophers choke on Saturday like a Denny Green coached team in the NFC championship game. I'm willing to bet on it and propose that the loser will have to work in the word "conundrum" into every one of their posts on this board for the duration of the 2006/07 high school hockey season.

A proud Michigan alum a few years back started flying his university's big navy and maize flag on football Saturdays. He started a trend that others have joined in on. Nowadays my neighborhood is dotted with Michigan, Mish St., ND, and Purdue Flags. My gopher pride is at an all time high after the biggy at State last week. It's time to raise the maroon and gold.

I think I'll try to assemble a team of five others and we will re-create the photo of the Stars and Stripes being raised on Iwo Jima, only with a gopher flag in my front yard.

ChrisK, I'm in on your bet. No way the Gophs lose

I'd like to bet too, but I'd have as much luck working conundrum into a sentance as George W. Bush. I might even screw up and get myself banned!

'W' would be OK so long as it wasnt a tongue twister like nulcear er..I ,mean nupli er ah nuclear..anyway, the only thing I bet is a cold one at The Liffey on Thursday in between sessions.

A cold one at the Liffey between sessions on Thursday would be acceptable packerboy. If I'm not mistaken you already owe me one because of Radke, so it would only be fitting to owe me another because of Mason.

And Empire, the bet is on. For the record there's no way I'll be cheering for the Hawkeyes, it's not even a conundrum for me, I just have such little faith in the coaching staff getting them ready for this game that I don't think they can pull it off.

Fair enough.

Just be prepared to pay up, I will enjoy reading all of your posts for the rest of the season. (Not that I didn't to begin with, well maybe I didn't, but I will for sure now)

5:47 to go. Gophers just make their first 3 and out on the day after a tremendous TD throw by Tate. Gophers punt. I believe there is a good chance that they do not run another offensive play and loose at the buzzer.

It's kind of hard to when we lose the Floyd of Rosedale every year. We don't even have the pig to put the lipstick on...
Has been rectified ER, now like I've been saying all along...

Give Mason an extension.Image

Hey, how about doze Gophers.

All you geniuses... Monday morning quaterbacks.

They boys were down and all of the real deep thinkers figured the answer was to fire Mason. The Gophers had a different answer.

Mason..............coach for life.

Mason Forever.

I'll be checking your posts ChrisK, you better have conundrum in every one of them.

And Neut, I put my faith and board existence in the hands of the Gophs. I still feel for them. 8)

Glen Orin Mason: established April 9, 1950.

If Packerboy has the President's ear and Mason can keep his arteries flowing and his wits about him like Joe Pa has, he isn't to the semester break of his coaching career yet.

Mason will finish out the Bush Administration, outlive two more two term presidents, and nearly make it through a third. TCF Bank Stadium will be twenty years old when some player from WI plows into Mason's left knee causing him to miss the final two games of his 33rd campaign. Mason will coach his record setting 24th Music City Bowl in a wheel chair from the press box that season. Johann Santana's place of residence will now be in Cooperstown and Madonna will still be smokin hot in her conical chest supporter at the spry age of 74. Carl Pohlad will be 167 years old and be using the word contraction to leverage the state into building him a domed stadium dowtown Minneapolis.

Who knew what that 10-9 victory over the Bison would have led to.

Death, taxes, and Mason's gold and maroon tie on autumn Saturday afternoons.

It looks like there will be a lot of conundrums at the hockey games I go to this year. The funny part will be when somebody not aware of the bet either gets mad when I suggest their son was in a conundrum about what to do with the puck or asks why there's always a conundrum at the games I see. And packerboy, I guess we'll be buying each other beverages at the Liffey this year...

Nice win for the Gophers, it was Iowa that folded and not the Mason-led scrappy rodents. I'm convinced, tear up the contract and make Mason Gopher Coach for Life and let Shanty's prediction come true.

Way to go Gophers. The boys and their soon to be coach for life should be proud.

Lost to Mich and OSU..so did everybody else. Lost to Wisconsin and Purdue who both finished in the top half. Lost to Cal who is a very goood team

Beat Penn State but the officials took it away on a brutal and incompetent call. Had the huge win vs defending national champ NDSU and wins over top programs like Ind, MSU and Iowa.

Officially they are 6-6 but in PBs mind they are 7-5 , 4-4.

This after losing top talent to the NFL and academic issues.

Coach Glen Mason...coach forever, coach for life.....coach of the year.

I posted over in the Vikings thread about their undeserved popularity and wont repeat it all here. But can you imagine how easy it would be to point out to a potential Gopher recruit that no matter what , the Gophers will always be second rate in this town.

The Sunday night sports shows hardly gave them mention. Another embarrasing Viking loss gets 10 times the pub as a heroic Gopher win.

You can fire Mason and everybody else but until that changes, Mason is doing as well as he can.

Excellent work Neut.

The Viking Rubes in this town are too busy wondering if Tavaris Jackson would make a difference to give Mason his due. But it wont stop us.

Motor City, Music City, we dont care. If the Alamo snubs us we will go to Tempe. Its a nicer town anyway.

Of course, no one from here will go. They might miss a Viking game.

Your picture of Glen the Great is good but he should have this on his head:

The RBs can be played by themselves. It will add realism.

Rhys can be played by Mick Dundee.

The Wooger - George Costanza or.....Kurt Russel

It should be an epic.
