Just curius -- what happens to a elite player when she is a senior if she was invited to Phase I as an 8 grader?

If they are a National level player they get invited to the U22 camp. For most it's time to move on, go to college and hopefully play hockey. But at some point they need to get a life.

Wow. Life outside the realm of hockey. Reality! What a concept. Good job xk1 keep reminding us all that its just a sport and for great majority of girls it probably won't last long. I think we are all better off pushing our kids to be academic allstars. Which high school has the best math team so my daughter can transfer? Will she lose a year of eligibility?

Well, you can have both, there are schools that are not only great at hockey but are Academic state champions.

I watched the '92 tryouts at Highland and was impressed with the talent. I'm sure all of the other sites and age levels were equally as good. It was so fun to watch hockey at this fast and very skilled pace. The hour sessions seemed to fly by. All of the girls that participated should be proud of their efforts.

In an ideal world this process would be used to help create a true elite league with tiers and a development component.

does anyone know the schedules for these tryouts because I was just wondering what NDP's policy is as far as the ACT test goes since this year's test is on the 14th....

If you have an ACT/SAT conflict the morning of that Sat you may be able to arrange to be excused just for that session/scrimmage. I would suggest asking this question once you receive info. re: Phase 2.

Does anyone know what link to take after that one?

We don't. I just assumed from what was said it would be posted on the front page with a link when it is ready but you know what assuming means.

I think they just post the link to take on the front page. It changes from year to year slightly based on how they name the file, etc.

I believe one of the judges for the central team was a MN Thoroughbreds coach. All 5 players made it. What a surprise!!
