ZAMBONI wrote:The seedings don't say too much. You have to win all of your games no matter what seed you are placed. The team that can handle the pressure will move on. Look at last year, give Albert Lea some rope and they will probally hang themselfs again. The #1 seed is always the favorite unless they get knocked out by a lower seeded team. LET THE PLAYOFFS BEGIN.
Looks like your prediction of AL hanging themselves didn't come true. I wonder what went wrong? Must not have been enough rope!
I wonder how pissed you got as they rolled through the section opponents by the score of 20-2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PUCKHANDLER. YOU don't get it. I don't care either way if Albert Lea wins the whole state tournament. I don't have anything invested in Albert Lea hockey. I have been out of there for about 6 year's now. ( As a fan ). I'm just on this board to keep SOME of the Albert Lea hockey people HONEST and from SUGARCOATING everything. It has been alittle better this year.

If you're not a fan, and haven't been for 6 years, and you have nothing invested in Albert Lea hockey, and you admit that you haven't seen the team play this year and in the past few years, then how in the world can you think that you are going to keep anyone honest????

I hate to break up the Puckhandler and ZAMBONI conversation, but these new sections might finally put our section on the map and get some wins up at state. Section 3A will now most likely get the reputation we have, "we can't win any games up at state". This is going to be a very competitive section now and i'm excited to be apart of it still.

Is this too bad for NU or good luck in 3A. I think that NU would be better off in 1A. They only had a few seniors and would have made for a fun section tourny.Make it to state or not, I think it sucks they are in 3A.

Hopefully the new 1A will move their section tournament back to Rochester, nothing against St. Peter and Inver Grove Heights but the Rec Center is a much better place to watch a hockey game. Also for us oldtimers the "new" 1A looks an awful lot like the "old" Big Nine, add to that lots of natural rivalries in as most of these schools compete in nearly every other sport in sections and it should be a great couple of years.

Wednesday's Prediction
Albert Lea= 4[/size]
Warroad= 2[/b][/i]
We will have a great all around game. That will include a great game in net by Clay Casanova. Nova will come through and not give up the late goals that he gave up 2 years ago to them. We have 8 seniors in which it is their last ride. We will avenge the lost from 2 years ago and this is our year it is destiny.
Also no one tell me to shut-up and that I have no clue about sports or hockey. I know anything and everything about sports and hockey. I could beat anyone/anybody in the world in a sports trivia challenge. Finally no one tell me I can't use term we. The reason is I am part of the team and that I am on the bandwagon. I know because all of the players told me so. The players voted me "The Fan Of The Year" for Albert Lea Tigers Hockey.
Formally known as Super Fan 09 but I have a new name under a new email address. Yes I do live in Albert Lea.

Agreed...hopefully St. Peter will be the home of the new 3A semis and finals. With the way 1A is set up next year, the Rec Center would be the ideal place.

PUCKHANDLER. It was a fun part-time job until I saw how SOME of the parents would treat there young hockey kids. It made me puke and quit. EXAMPLE = A Squirt level player got a penalty and his dad comes running down from the stands and just start's yelling at his kid in the penalty box. I look over and to my surprise the parent is JACKSTRAW. ( Albert Lea's " A" bantam head coach. ) Another example was a parent running over to the player's bench and yelling at his kid to play better. This was in-house squirt level hockey. IT WAS VERY SAD.

You're delusional....I was involved with the in-house program either as a coach or parent when you ran the clock and officiated and NONE of that ever happened.

I shouldn't say "none of it ever happened", it is possible. Regardless, still you're delusional about AL hockey.

RSI. See the TRUTH is starting to leak out. First you said none of this happened and now you say yes it did. It happens in all of the hockey levels.

I'm starting to think that if you had "access" to every other team in the state, you would find the same things wrong with about 95% of them that you do in the AL program. Problem is, you seem to think AL is the only place anything bad happens, or is the only place that has people who "sugarcoat" everything. Instead of being so critical of anyone who has ever been a player, coach or fan of AL hockey.....maybe you should just sit back and enjoy the games. You probably wouldn't be so miserable. But thats right, you don't care. You don't have anything "invested" in Albert Lea hockey. I suggest if you don't care, quit acting like you do.

JACKSTRAW. THANK'S for the private e-mail message.I see you learned your lesson last time and didn't call my home. KUDO'S to you. Also thank's for being honest and admitting that this event did happen in the penalty box. I agree with you, the problem with kid's should be taken care of at home and this is the better choice than leaning over the glass and chewing out a kid. Let the coach take care of this stuff at the rink and parent's take care of it at home. Look at it this way , you as a head coach, would you want one of the parent's of your player's to run to the penalty box or player's bench and yell?

Great effort from AL last night. Not unexpected by those of us who have played them.
Pretty much gave all they could to win that thing. Walton had his hands full neutralizing Marvin. Ahrendt showed what a player he really is, creating half the chances AL had. Royce created the other half.
Casanova would probably like the one goal back, but he played very well, good enough to win. Was a good draw for AL and they almost pulled it off.
Great run thru sections, and thank you from the rest of Section 1A for showing that there are teams worth playing down here.
Also -
The rest of the state may want to take lessons from AL on how they handled some things last night. The entire game was pull/push/grab. The penalty calls on AL were huge, but I haven't seen or heard one gripe or complaint.
Speaking of that, isn't it amazing how at the start of every season lately, there is a huge emphasis on infractions, on refs cracking down and enforcing everything. Then, by playoff time, it pretty much goes right back to same old/ same old. Maybe we're just conditioned to it by now, but I don't see any huge difference in the style of the game right now or the way it is called. Still lots of grabbing/hooking/holding going on.
Not saying what's right or wrong, just an observation.
