okay...THEN Brainerd should be ahead of Elk River, although in HOTNESS i don't feel that is true....forest lake is 9-11-2...Brainerd is 14-6-1, how do you figure Flake is "hotter" one fluke game, big deal!

That sounds right, given that the play-in games will be Saturday the 17th. Which coincides with the final day of regular season play elsewhere in Minnesota, which is weird and usually only happens in 2AA, if any of my memory is left.

Is it even possible for DE to be on top after their game's against Cloquet?

The meeting is on Feb 14 V-day. It will be at Tobies this year not the bowling alley. Couple key games yet to determine 4-6 seedings.

Forest Lake is playing the toughest teams in the state just as tough as Brainerd is playing average teams in the state.

As of now, too many key games left for a solid debate.

If Brainerd beats CEC:
4. BRN
5. ER
6. FL

If Elks beat Blaine, Brainerd loses to CEC:
4. ER
5. BRN
6. FL

If Elks beat Blaine, Brainerd loses to CEC, Flake beats CDH
4. ER
5. FL
6. BRN

I don't know. A week until they actually are seeded tho. I hope Sarsland brings me back some cinnamon rolls.

Well, here is one scenario:

1. Cloquet loses to Stillwater
2. Cloquet loses to Brainerd
3. East beats Stillwater

Now Cloquet has two losses and a tie in the section, East has one loss and a tie. If the above happens (and I don't believe it will, but you wondered if there was a way East could get seeded first, so here you go...), then here are a few ideas to mull over.

1. Cloquet has the edge in head to head (1-0-1 with a one goal win and a tie)
2. Against common 7AA opponents, East is 3-0, Cloquet is 3-2.
3. Against all common opponents, East is 7-0, Cloquet is 7-3.
4. In their last ten games, East is 9-0-1, Cloquet is 4-4-2. (Does momentum count here? Do coaches, like many of us, put more weight on what's happened recently versus what happened early in the season?)

I'd love to hear the discussion between the coaches on this one!

DING CORRECT!!!

one last situation:
If all three lose......
4 BRD
5 ER
6 FLAKE

No matter what: ER-4. They have Sarsland arguing for them. 4, end of discussion. Now you can tell me if Brainerd will be 5 or 6 and why.

Forest Lake is playing the toughest teams in the state just as tough as Brainerd is playing average teams in the state.
There isn't much out there in the way of common opponents, and not much conclusion to be drawn from those games.

Forest Lake has a big edge owing to their drubbing of Brainerd. To those who say "well, it's one game", what has Brainerd done to warrant being seeded over Forest Lake? In other words, what big games has Brainerd won? If you define "big game" as a game against a Top 30 (by PS2) opponent, Brainerd is 4-3-1. Forest Lake is 1-7-1. I'd consider that to be a big advantage to Brainerd. Question is, what will the coaches think about that? Would it offset Forest Lake 6, Brainerd 1?

Bringing up games you'd say those teams shouldn't have lost, Brainerd has one; Fergus Falls. Forest Lake has two; to Hastings (before you protest, Hastings is rated below Fergus Falls in PS2) and Park of Cottage Grove.

One more interesting tidbit, for what it's worth; PS2 rates Forest Lake higher, PS3 rates Brainerd higher.

This is going to be one heckuva fun section seeding meeting. There is no way all ten coaches will walk out of that room satisfied. Hopefully, all but one or two will. Can I get a press pass for this? Edd? Image

Well if this is the case that the Elks will be the 4 seed then I pray Brainerd is the 5 seed.

IF 'nerd plays with Cloquet, they get #4. If they get sent out to pasture, they get #5 (possibly 6). They gotta prove that they are coming to play at the end of the year or else their 2-1 won't mean (Lumber)jack.
