Hill-Murray is in the State Tournament almost every year since first becoming eligible in 1975... much more than any other team in Minnesota.

For some reason, 2008 looks like a Championship year for Hill. Is it because the 1983 team will be celebrating 25 years? Or is the 2008 team more like that 1991 team which won the last All-School Tournament?

What a great tourney 1991 was... beating neighborhood rival by six goals... scoring from center ice and a State record 7 goals in one period to become the only H-M squad with a post-season win against the Indians... coming back from 0-2 and 1-3 against the Dulutherans... H-M enrollment then smaller than Roseau... more hated than Edina....

The Pioneers have had at least one Championship each decade...

1969-1970
1971-1972
1982-1983
1990-1991

So the Pioneers are due (why not a threepeat before the decade is out?)!
You guys are sickening!! Why bother playing the season out if they are that good. Just give them the hardware now. Remember what happended two years ago when they were supposedly unbeatable with all that talent. Same thing last year, but they weren't as loaded. Anything can happen come tournament time. Let's see how things play out as the season progresses.

Hill Murray beware! Don't think you should be counting your chickens before they hatch.

Just look what happened to Holy Angles the last two years. #1, but did not get invited to the big dance.

Real Pioneer fans don't get too "giddy" until White Bear has been eliminated from sections. A lot of hype has been built up about this year's club as it returns some quality/quantity of talent and the attention they get is justified. However, success at Hill Murray is defined in terms of state tournament appearances. Lech will not allow the kids to get too full of themselves. So for the young Pioneer fans out there, sit back, enjoy the ride, but remember, the season doesn't begin until the end of Feb.

Just an FYI, teams do not get "Invited" to this dance. They need to earn their way to it.

And any H-M team needs to earn a victory of WBL. We've played them pretty much every year for the last 20 years in sections and they don't ever lay down and die. And besides, Roseau and Edina are as good or better than H-M, so I'd just like a chance to put our squad against theirs.

Hopefully we'll be able to overlook our two conference losses to the KotCSC.

Obviuosly, only the "elite" winners of each section gets invited to the state tournament and this is a privalge that HM still needs to earn. You can't just sit back and talk about your HM teams of the past and you can't just in front of the mirror and admiring all your talent.

If they stay healthy and eligible  , its in the bag. On a Hill off night there's nobody in that section that will come within three goals of them. I know Sparlimb, I know, I know...

But this years Hill team has ALOT more depth than the years those #%$@ing Bears snuck past you and your boys.

Its in the Bag! Go ahead and start a thread with it.

Looks like this Neutron kid knows his Minnesota High School Hockey!

To be considered a great team, you must go through Hill-Murray...

70's Grand Rapids

80's Burnsville

'93 Jefferson

2002+ Holy Angels

2004 Centennial

All great teams who were not great UNTIL they slipped past Hill-Murray!

No game tonight (seems teams are already giving up against the Pioneers), so just put in an old video of '91 and watch a preview of the 2008 Championship game!

O yea.

thay looked pretty dang good thursday night against Wyzata and too tell you the truth, I really cant see them losing.
Furne is probably the biggest sniper in the state, im sorry if the future goalies he plays against seen his first two goals against Wyzata before he got his hattrick.
The first line is solid, the second line is solid, the third line is solis, and the fourth line is not becasue they don't got one.

Ahh to see the world through the green shaded glasses. Rumor has it that Lechner has pulled then off the ice and has them walking across water in the aquatic center.

Word on the street is they are arguably the best 1-0 team in Ramsey County.

Really? Then what line does Metcalf, Sontag, and French play on? The 3.5 line?

metcalf is 3rd line center
prescott will be on 4th after his violation is up. lou might double shift because they need to have someone else on 4th line though
