That kid gots game.
I like watching him play.
Best team at penalties is what I think he meant?nsideHocKey17 wrote:I think apollo was the best team in the tournement they jus let down the last gamee.
And I suppose we get the consolation prize for thatStealth wrote:Rogers was the best in the ref’s whistle eye's with 7 penalties for 14 minutes.![]()
Sure does, especially when you add strength and speed to it, which is what most of the top players have.[gspan] wrote: size doesn't mean crap.
Size means something to a lot of people. More for d-men than forwards...[gspan] wrote:size doesn't mean crap.
The Musketeers have Crandell listed at 5'10" and 190 pounds. Thats not exactly small. What is Ness? Heisenberg has him listed at 5'9" and 155 lbs. Also Chris Student is 5'9" and 160 lbs.George Blanda wrote:Size means something to a lot of people. More for d-men than forwards...[gspan] wrote:size doesn't mean crap.
A pretty solid example.
Matt Crandell of the Sioux City Musketeers. Damn good player. Turning in his second solid USHL season.
3rd in the USHL in plus/minus for d-men.
7th in the USHL in points for d-men.
As far as I know, no top-end D-1 offers as of yet. Why? Size.
Raboin, just for future reference.zippitydoda wrote:What about Rabouin (sp?) for SCSU or Swanson, who is about 170. Then there are guys in the NHL on the blueline who aren't that big as well, like Keith Ballard of Phoenix. They don't come much more solid in play or in toughness than that kid.
In general size is a factor, better big than small as long as all the skills are there, but there will always be a place in hockey for smaller guys (relatively speaking), who play tough, play bigger than they are and have good skills.
Is that with the extra inch or two they give you to pad your stats?George Blanda wrote:You guys did find some smaller defensemen that have made it to a D-1 team. Motzko likes getting offensive defensemen that are smaller.
If you're good enough, like Ness, size doesn't matter. He's an exceptional talent. Ballard is 5'11". Not small, not big.
Smaller D are coming in to the NHL with the new rules...but there aren't that many 5'10" or smaller D in the NHL. I'd say less than 15 D in the NHL are 5'10" or smaller.

So with that being said, please make educated opinions with a little factual information to back up your opinions and not just completly stupid ones.ya they didnt try against bismark.
