Only one of the group that I know who has committed is Gina McDonald to Harvard.....I don't know on the other three though I would think they have D1 options if that is their desire.

Congratulations to Megan, what a great kid. She tends to fly under the radar, but for my money is as skilled as any player in this talented and deep class of defensemen.

I would also like to extend my congratulations to Megan. She is a great kid with great parents. My daughter had the privilege of skating with Megan a couple summers ago. It was a treat to watch Megan play.

Great to see the U bringing in lots of local talent. Looking at that you have to wonder what the U coaching staff thinks of minnesota girls hockey.

The good news is MN has 21 signed players to D1 schools the most in the Nation.

The Bad News.....This is more a commentary on the fued between MN Hockey and USA Hockey. Being a U18 Team player is big to MN, WI, Harvard - a year ago we had one from MN on the U18 Team. A U18 Team player gets extra coaching, training and the experience to play/have impact on the Global Stage. The AAA Teams are part of USA Hockey - the players are seen all year at the AAA and year ending Tournament. MN Hockey has allowed the Fall Upper Midwest Elite League. At the final All Star Weekend USA Hockey was there watching - did they come to see MN HS Girls or AAA Teams in to play? Doesn't matter but if MN Girls are to get best Opportunities (equal to D1 % on the National Team) they need exposure. The MN Teams rolled over some of the National Championship Level Teams that came to town.

The MN coaching staff will continue to look for the best global talent - they have to to compete for the National Championship. They are nice guys and having CDN background it is easier to search for the best talent. Bethany Brausen will represent MN well on and off the ice she is a natural player and leader who works hard and is usually the smartest player on the ice.

Great news on Cara Johnson - she is joining a new program that could be a National Champion before she graduates.

So a few big name players still out there Kallie Billadeau Hopkins G, Kristie King Stillwater F, Ashley Stenerson Moorhead F........and many more may still be signed at the D1 level.

I am not sure why it would matter where you are from as to how successful you can recruit. I don't see a lot of CDN coaches on the mens WCHA teams who have problems getting talent in. Would find it interesting to see the reaction to the gopher men's program bringing a coach from up north in.
