BP is correct.
The high altitude and thin air in the Al Shaver Press Box must be messing with acs' thoughts.

If the same schools are allowed to drop down as the last cycle, three sections will only have seven teams.
Section 2: Marshall moves to A
Section 6: St. Louis Park moves to A
Section 8: Already at seven teams.
Section 2 and 6 could easily be adjusted to 8 teams be reducing Section 3 from 10 to 8. Section 8 would be more difficult but it could be done. Ask Elk River if they would like to get out of Section 7 and move to Section 8.
The MSHSL knew this was going to be the case, why they cannot think ahead is beyond me.

Air not that thin up here, point is teams typically schedule games against section opponents and in some cases they would want to change some games if moved to new sections. Elk River would like a change of scenery for sure, 8 would have been a nice fit. They are used to moving around.

And section 8 has been and is a bit light particularly with GBs comment about STMA being a 1 seed. I like ER going to 8 with the addition of Duluth Marshall in 7. Point is no section in AA should have only 7 teams leaving a bye for the 1 seed when there are 9 & 10 teams in other sections. Clearly geography has been thrown out the window. Time for the MSHSL to do some simple math. I almost agree with Almost its gonna be a great year.

The MSHSL site has been updated. Back to the way it was intended to be I believe.

My guess is this is incorrect information but maybe an indication that some changes will be made. The MSHSL link doesn't represent some changes that we know are final like Duluth Marshall (the private of the north) being shown in 7A instead of 7AA.

The link notTONIGHT provided is not for the 2015-16 season it's for 2014-15 season.

With all due respect to GB, I think he's hugely underestimating Bemidji. I can't speak to STMA, but I will be very surprised if Moorhead ends up a higher seed than Bemidji this year as he predicted. If they can get some goaltending, my $ says we see Bemidji back in St. Paul in March and they could be in position to surprise people down there a bit and do some damage.

Two weeks from today the season starts. Marshall, the town, still listed as AA in Section 2.
This can't be permanent....

That's the proper link this time...

There won't be another State HS League meeting till 12/1, so they must be in AA then, unless they change it during the season? I'd find that odd if they did.

The MSHSL knows Roseau couldn't survive a section with Elk River, so they are trying to avoid it. They'd be more likely to move CDH there (the team that's been in every section the past 10 years).
Section 2AA

Marshall moved to Section 3A from 2AA.
Section 2AA remains at 7 schools like previous seasons. The #1 seed only needs to play 2 games to qualify for state tourney.

And right next door, 3AA remains at 10 schools, like previous seasons.

I'm Nuts but I do completely agree with Almost. Let's the games begin (and somebody teach the MSHSL how to divide by
