The only way to seed fairly with everyone beating everybody would be to seed 1-8 by winning percentage in the section.

That would work if everybody were to play each team in the section at least once ... but I don't believe that to be the case in this section.

Section 8AA coaches should meet in person for seeds the way 7AA normally does for this season anyways and have it televised. 🍿🍿🍿

... "for this season anyways" that would be a great pay per view event ... sit back, have a little popcorn, a few adult beverages, and let the games begin ... epic!

I find it amazing that every team in the section has a winning record. How rare is this?

Per QRF

St Mike's 14-4-2 3-2-1
Beat Roseau, lost to Buffalo, Bemidji and tied Moorhead.
Have Buffalo and Rogers left in section. Need to win both for a chance at 1.
Likely to be #2 in coaches voting.

Moorhead 14-3-3 5-2-1
Lost to Roseau and Brainerd but avenged both later in the season.
Have the most impressive wins over HF, Benilde and Minnetonka.
Have Bemidji left. A loss would likely give 1 to StMA.

Roseau 14-7-0 6-3-0 #3 is probably the best they do. No section games left. Recent losses to Moorhead and St Mikes will likely keep them at 3. A loss to Cloquet could hurt them.

Brainerd 13-8-1 5-4-0 This is also a little messy. Wins over Moorhead and Bemidji certainly prove they are capable. Two losses to Roseau and a recent drubbing by DEast weigh them down. They have section contest against St Cloud, a loss would likely drop them to 5.

Bemidji 11-8-1 Looked to be slotted here but recent wins against Roseau and St Mikes could move them up. A win over Moorhead will likely move them to 4 possibly 3. If they win out with wins over Mhead, Grand Rapids and Hermantown, well, not likely to happen but IF then things will be spinning.

Buffalo, Roger & St Cloud.
Buffalo has StMA who they beat earlier. Another win by Buffalo skews everything.
Rogers has StC and StMA - two wins there and uffda.
St Cloud could move up one with a win over Rogers.

The key word here is likely, likely, likely. But the season has been unlikely.
And seeding is important but the section will pit a team against another team with a likelihood of having a winning season.
Yup all 8 teams in 8AA have a winning record at this point.

Obviously, I want Bemidji to win. Moorhead LIKELY has the best shot at State. But which ever team wins will be fun to see at state.

If Bemidji gets by Moorhead, do they put themselves into the conversation for the one seed? I'd say so based on a "what have you done for me lately" view point. If they get the win they would have knocked off Roseau, St. Mikes, and Moorhead, and throw on top of that a win over GR. Just wanting to hear other peoples thoughts on this.

Could see them as 1. With their injuries and their wins at the end, definitely have a chance.

Bemidji has the H'town Hawks tomorrow ... that should provide evidence if they are for real ... or simply on a 'mini' hot streak.

Elliott, should I change my thinking on section 8 and figure Bemidji will be down at the X for the third straight year? If so , do you want to play Eden Prairie in the first round, just to get them behind you?

Moorhead still the favorite, but could be 1 of 5.
Jacks might be there, but will probably beat holy fam in the first round and the spank Edina.
Final with the elks could go either way.

Not running time in either game, but two W's for Hermie none the less:

Friday - Hermantown-6 Brainerd-3
Saturday - Hermantown-3 Bemidji-2 OT

If that was softening up then next time the Jacks better schedule 3 games for the Hawks before they play them.

The Jacks played well but Hermantown is relentless, 4 lines of go, go, go.
