Great post! Love this. Do you suppose Hutch has a bus that can get to Luverne?

Hutch better leave now for this unprecedented journey they're about to embark on. This will undoubtedly require not only 1 bus, but a spare bus also, in case the first one isn't prepared for the distance.
Every precaution must be taken, scheduled multi hour/day stops in New Ulm, St James, Windom and Worthington. Potential back up stops in Madelia, Mountain Lake, Heron Lake, and Adrian.
Everyone please keep Hutch in your thoughts and prayers as they make this difficult trek. If you see them along the road please encourage them so they don't lose hope. It can be done. We all believe in you.

Good one!
Several years ago, I was perusing the weekend game schedules and saw that Luverne was "hosting" Hutchinson at the Marshall ice arena (old one at fairgrounds). So I went to see a Luverne "home" game with Hutch. They kicked Hutch's butt 7-0. I sat with some Hutchinson parents and asked why Hutchinson never went the distance to Luverne. They said that the Hutch bantams and younger (pee wee, squirt) did actually have a bus that made it all the way down to Luverne, but that the Hutch coach hated the Luverne coach and refused to play down there. One parent said "We can get good enough competition within an hour of Hutchinson; no need to drive so far to Luverne."
This is hilarious. Perhaps Hutch can get a police escort all the way down MN 23 to Pipestone.

The last coach Luverne had worth hating was ran out of town in 2003.
Teak, the parent you spoke to meant to say they could lose to plenty of teams within an hour. No need to travel that far south for a defeat.
They wouldve lost at BMIA by double digits when the Cards were ROLLING.
I'm not saying they'll lose this section playoff game. But it will be sweeeeet if they do.
ROLLCARDSROLL.

The Section 1A playoffs should be pretty good. Any one of four teams could make the trek to the X.

Usually the first team to score in OT wins.

Where are you getting that info? Both the Hub and Marshall’s Twitter account have Hutch winning.

This goal was called good by the official on the goal line , then after deliberation with the goal judge it was deemed the net was off.
I don’t see it. Close examination does show the net jar by the goalie’s push, I guess I’m not really sure what there is to say, this is a video of Marshall scoring in overtime and I guess here we are, it was disallowed and Hutchinson scored the next one.

Gotcha, thanks for the explanation. I wasn’t aware of the controversy when I posted above. Unfortunately the Twitter video angle isn’t great, but that is certainly a disappointing way to lose a playoff game.

Yeah, video shows that no Marshall player was near net so it could only come off its moorings by the Hutch goalie nudging it. Goal should have been allowed.
*Yawn*, never mind.
Hutch will beat New Ulm to go to state. They will face Hermantown in round 1. The Chickenhawks will take Hutch into running time in the first period. Hutch will lose game #2 in the Losers' bracket and head on home down 212. Another 3A season ends.

Marshall WON the game.
Top-seeded Marshall escaped the upset-minded efforts of a hard-working Hutchinson squad on Saturday afternoon.
The state's leading scorer scored his biggest goal of the season with 5:33 remaining in the first OT session, to lead Marshall to the 3-2 victory.
Despite the win, Marshall's season ends with a school-best 23-2-1 record.
Hutchinson moves on to face New Ulm in the Section 3A finals on Wednesday, Feb. 27.
