EP Red goalies

Yah, Ford and the whole EP Red team had an off game against Wayzata Blue. Both of the Red goalies are solid -- 6 losses in 53 games is top shelf play. Ford must be doing something right this year. Saw in last week's Let's Play Hockey that he has a 9 game winning streak against Edina teams, dating back 2 years. Damn, that is impressive.

Your kidding right, someone put that in an article? Yea, Dad, your right, it is all your son, the fact that the team scored goals has nothing to do with it. The defensemen in front of you had nothing do to with it. It was all about your son the goalie, me, me, me. Wow, get over yourself, it is a team sport, TEAM sport.

Holy cow, mnhockey36299 -- having a tough day, are we? You got it right, it is a TEAM GAME, however, being an ex-goalie, I like to defend the netminders. When a TEAM plays poorly, goalie and players, it is ALWAYS the goalie who bears the blame..... Geez, get a life, mnhockey36299 and chill out.

Sorry Hawkguy, did I offend you, your obvioulsy an EP guy based on your posts. I am having a great day, down at the Excel watching some hockey. Just got a copy of the LPH and read the article, and it is a joke. Nice write up about a good team, until we get to that little piece.

Chisago deserves to be there. Everyone knows about #10 and #26, but the other forwards aren't far behind. They may have some trouble against phsical teams. Roch will give them a battle and it is a matchup that is hard to read. Chisago has scoring punch in most games. Roch is a bit small and a bit slow but they have good D and excellent puck movement and a very good PP. However, Chisago doesn't take a lot of penalties. No way to predict an outcome in that match.
Stillwater / WBL Black bit the dust in regions. Lots of talk here about #6 being dangerous, but sorry, either he was either off, or he lacked line support or both.
Blaine is peaking at the right time. All three lines score. The D and G have been consistently good. WBL Orange will give them a battle though. WBL O had an impressive showing in their regional. Maybe they're peaking too.
Wayzata is finally healthy and in good form. They dropped off the radar a bit during a mid-season slump, but a lot off that was injury/flu related. They are one team that can score in flurries and make the most of their chances.
EP Red is still the team to beat. Speed, puck movement, G, and PP on all lines. Don't get too concerned over their loss to the Blue. New ballgame next week.
Moorhead and Central Lakes will have to be considered dark horses.

I agree with all those who are right. Ford is overrated. He is a good goalie but anyone can look like Roy with the team he had last year.

In addition, he played every game last year which made people think he was "God". He's not. The other goalie wasn't very good.

Ok yeah im not going to argue Ford being good or not, but EP writes in a lot of stupid articles to lets play hockey. The one of issue and the one after the peewee A regionals when they claimed a kid hid a puck in his breezers and put it in the net for the winning goal. Garbage like that that is ruining the sport. Take your losses like a man, and dont brag up a storm about your wins and play hockey.

Leave the kid alone, he is not overrated, just have a few parents over the top, as in every association. Ford is a solid goalie, or we wouldn't be playing Bantam B1, or PeeWee A last year. Yes, good team in front of him, but he still had to stop the shots that came at him.

Hey why did they not find the puck in Eps net? because it went up his breezers but who cares anyways because it was a easyer road for them in state and then they beat Wayzata 7-3 in the championship so it doesnt really matter, but for the truth it did go up the breezers, I have seen the tape, and the ref made a bad call but its alright now, a new season started.

It has take a great deal of effort to not post. (The reason for not posting is that I am a coach and think my opinion would be unfairly bias) I can't stand it anymore, I think we shouldn't single out players on this board, they are only 14 and 15 years old. Wouldn't you people feel like jerks when one of these KIDS that you are ripping logs onto one of these message boards and reads about he is no good. On the other end of the spectrum, we also don't need to be making their heads huge. That is all I have to say

buhockeyace very well put. How many people would be willing to post some of the things that get posted to this forum if you had to identify yourselves publicly. I think it would be very few. It is easy to cut other's down and blow your own horn when you can hide behind an anonymous username. I enjoy hearing about other teams in general terms (great power play, hot goaltending, struggling moving the puck, etc.), both successes and struggles as all teams have them.
If I ever discovered that my son was posting derogatory comments about other players, coaches or parents on this forum he would be banned not only from this site but from use of our home computer. Anyway my 2 cents.

In case that was directed in my direction, I never said Ford was bad. He's not. If you read closely (I know that can be hard

) I stated Ford is good, but he isn't amazing. Wasn't trying to pick on him.

My comments were not directed at anyone in particular. Just a general statement. Just don't feel it is necessary to criticize kids on a public forum and use specific names. I would not care to see my sons name plastered all over a public forum for more reasons than just being criticized about how he played in a specific hockey game.

I am not calling anyone a bad person. I think that we all need to just take a step back and realize what these kids are playing for, and that is for fun and competition. These boys are not getting paid, getting a schoolarship or any other payment for playing the game. It is fun to compare scores, here about how a TEAM is on a streak, or even how a TEAM got beat badly. In my opion (and this is strictly my opion) we cross the line when we start pointing out a partictular player (good or bad) by either name or number. I know on the team that I coach there are players that have cost us a goal here and there, and there are players that have carried our team through the battles, but I will almost will never point them out in the locker room and will never point them out on a message board. The same goes for opposing team's players. That is my last 2 cents, if you still feel compelled to point a finger at some one, then use me.
