Yes, but how many STMA, Princeton, Waseca, BBL, games are in there?
It's a matter of the HS playing more of the better teams that these Youth teams are playing now.
I also believe that the great majority of players are 1st year in both classes???
And so what if they (youth) are struggling now playing better competition, it ends up the same playing these easier M8 teams when they get to HS.
A meaningless win is just that.....meaningless!

Also...
Rogers only has a few Sr. Varsity players this year, otherwise they are all Jr's, and Rogers JV team is 14-1-1 and I don't recall how their Bantams finished last year, but I think anytime you upgrade your SOS your better off.
If you find your the one getting throttled 10-0 you adjust to it the next year, that is, if winning is more important then competing with better competition.
In the end it doesn't really matter what your season record ends up, it's how you play through sections.

How many is a "few" seniors?

J.V. does not = varsity success

Ok 4 and 1 is a 3rd liner..... and I said Sr. "Varsity" players, Rogers didn't cut anyone this year, so there are actually 3 more Sr's, one gets limited V time, one is out for the season due to illness, and another is coming off a broken ankle, and probably won't see V this year.

Agreed, but what I'm saying is, that if they are winning 87% of the games they are playing against the other JV teams, what would change? all things being equal with other programs? (Progression from JV to V)
Many of these wins have been running time.

Some jv players never play varsity and even more have little impact at varsity.

Regardless, we're getting off topic. I just think that Rogers fans are conveniently trying to put themselves in with Buffalo. One or two years does not a program make. And despite what you think the Youth Program is down from the past few years. This will equate to down years at high school.

??? If JV doesn't = Varsity success, how can you say that Youth has any bearing?
I'm not not trying to put Rogers with anyone, both programs have the same issues.

Where are your top freshman playing?...either A BT or maybe varsity.

Where are your best sophomores playing?....varsity.

A lot of teams have their top sophmores playing varsity...it is called developing your players. You have them playing at the varsity level so that they can be an impact player come section time and for the next two years.

Are you telling me that buffalo's best sophmores are on JV?? because if that is the case why did roger's JV mop the floor with them earlier this year...since according to you all of their top sophmores play varsity.

Yeah the Roger's JV is 14-1-1 but when against STMA they barely escaped with a 2-1 win. And when STMA played Rogers Varsity when STMA pulled Turnquist and put in Thelen he only allowed 2 more goals to make it 6-0.

And the point you are trying to make is what?? STMA still lost both games and the only reason JV was 2-1 is because they played their Assistant varsity captain in a JV game...congratulations you tried to win the JV game and still couldn't do it.

if their varsity assistant captain played in a jv game wouldn't that make it more like 4-1, 5-1, 6-1? The point is you guys make them sound so good then only beat STMA by one goal in a tight game.....

Yes unfortunately..a fight did break out.
I didn't see how it started, as the game was over, and I was already falling asleep  .
I believe 3 Rogers players Spratt, Hullander, and Polfuss, and 2 BBL players ?? got game misconducts, very stupid on behalf of the Rogers players involved, it was behind the BBL goalie and totally unnecessary, You beat them 10-0 and give up 4 shots on goal and have to fight at the end???

The sad part is Polfuss from Rogers was not even on the ice, and got one?
I heard the refs said they wouldn't change it but they did make the wrong call, sucks for him.
It should have been Kielsa or Palmer.
I did hear they got a good axe chewing afterward by Coach Marchand...=D>

It won't effect much for Rogers in their next game, as the first two are 3rd line D, and Polfuss is 2nd line fwd. and interchangeable.

Again Dumb ! Dumb ! Dumd !

How do you rationalize that a varsity goalie will let in more pucks then a JV goalie? Aren't varsity players suppose to be better then JV players? And how big of a slap to the face is it to make an assistant captain play JV...must be the wonderful coaching staff at STMA

STMA program took a tremendous loss when they lost Zach Johnson, they also lost a couple others to Elk River last year...in my opinion would have made only a marginal difference...however, why does this HS team keep losing players? Is there politics or is it there selfishness among the better players to go play on a better team? what is it?

It's a little of both selfish players and politics all the way up the youth. Cole May and Zach Otts both went to ER last year, but Otts came back this year and is playing JV for transfer violations. They get big heads and think they are gonna get noticed...but Johnson was only here for a few years I believe he came from Wayzata, played Varsity as an 8th-10th grader, then moved to M-W. It's not like he was home brewed, like May and Otts were.

Otts was the better player coming up in youth as I recall. May and his mother were the only ones who thought Cole was good...again if I recall. Is May playing for ER? If so it probably explains ER's fall from the top. Ott's liked to mix it up too much and from outside the window it appears he might be a little much for a coach to handle...neither player overly impressed me but both probably could make a difference on the Club they have now.

Yeah Otts was the better player from the youth and i think May is playing ER JV. I know that the STMA coaches have got Otts shaped up a lot better now since his youth days. Otts still likes to mix it up but he moves the puck and skates it, because in JV he just owns everyone.
