This game was won by WBL Orange 5-4. Not a very good measure of both teams since it was 4th game in as many days. I think both teams looked better in the Moose. The next match up is in January.

So, not unlike the college football world, it seems that every supposed powerhouse team can be taken down. And every team that someone discounts as nothing, can win. Should make for an exciting run.
Back to district play...any big match ups worth noting?
Congrats to all teams that were able to close the deal this weekend. Looks like some very good games at the local tourneys.

Duluth East Black vs Hermantown. this was a very tight series last year with a serioes victory to duluth 2-1. it showed when in the district final East won in Overtime.

I believe that Tonka and EP Red meet again this weekend in league play. Should be a good rematch of their battle in Roseville over the weekend.

Its a proposal by a private investment group to finance the building of a sports complex, consisting of seven ice rinks and a 100,000 SF fieldhouse that could be used for lacrosse, football, soccer, and baseball. It would be in place of the current ice arena (Bielenberg) and would be adjacent to the new high school.
The investment group is giving a proposal to the Woodbury City Council on December 8th. I think the big sticking point is financing, as Woodbury wants to make sure it does not get stuck with the costs. Seems like a good idea but it is unknown if it will get approved.

In a rematch of Roseville tourney Championship game Tonka comes out on top this time 2-1.
There is also another game worth noting across town in D2...
Stillwater vs WBL Black on Sat... This game should provide a look at the leadership of D2
Stillwater is 4 - 0 and WBL Black is 4 - 1.
Each team having won their respective in house Tourneys against some good competition.
My Guess Black wins 3 - 1
