4-2 Hornets
FINAL

While round 1 goes to the Hornets you can't leave that game thinking one team was any better then the other. Congrats to both Edina and Minnetonka for putting on a show. Both teams had reallly strong stretches and there is no reason to believe blue can't come out on top next time. I do believe these are the two top teams in state although they both face extremely tough sections...
Good win for white, they did just enough...

Somewhere in the midst of this thread I called this one...
Edina's the best team I've seen all year, and being an East fan I've seen a number of them.

What a great hockey game.
Congrats to both.
One of the best games I've ever seen.

If MHS didn't play scared the 1st period the outcome might have been different, but either way Edina proved why they are rated so high.
What a fun game to watch.
btw - the d-bag that questioned Buonomo is stilll a d-gag.

Congrats to Edina tonight.
What a great game...playoff feel, great intensity and pace.
Caschetta played well, a couple of bounces and it could have been a different game, but not tonight. Tonka definitely put some pucks on net tonight.
Jake Gardiner needs to learn when to play the man and not the puck. He had a hand in the first two Edina goals. He's a great player and will do well at a higher level I'm sure, but he's still learning the position, which is to be expected for a guy who just moved to D.
It will be good to see them play again in two weeks.

They should move the rematch to Ridder.

Congrats to both teams on just a great played hs hockey game - probably one of the best I've seen in a long time with just a ton of talent on both sides of the ice. Great to see that it was clean (only three penalties total?) and the players decided the outcome of this game. Definitely the two best teams I have seen this year and either one could've won this game. Great job players and coaches from both teams - can't wait for the rematch!

Twas an Outstanding game by both squads. Cash$ and his Hornets showed why many have them at the 1 spot. Tonka and their solid D - backed up by some excellent play by Buonomo - showed that they can skate with the best and hold their own. If I was a boisterous fan of certain team from the Nort, I think I'd take notice. Believe it or not, these city boys can play.

That would not be a good idea, it would have an empty feel. Ridder would be a good fit.

It is unfortunate the Broncos won't get a shot at either team. Too bad it doesn't go back to one class - maybe with 16 instead of 8. Then the

top ranked team

could play the city boys...he he.
Undefeated on US Soil

Actually, I cam away with the impression Edina wouldn't lose to Minnetonka very often. Jake Gardiner may be a great player, but he didn't look like the Second Coming against the Hornets.
Cash Money played well, yes, but Edina had real defensive struggles with one of their pairings tonight. In the rematch I'll pick Edina even though they're on the road.
I thought Tommy Lundquist of Minnetonka looked pretty good. Just a sophomore. Obviously Giel and Coatta are the top scoring forwards - both looked good.
Minnetonka played well but shots aren't the same as scoring chances and Edina has been pretty good all year about keeping those to a minimum. Budish is great and Everson and Lee just keep on getting scoring chances. Minnetonka will have trouble outscoring Edina because those guys just don't go a night without getting a couple.
Holy Angels is barely able to beat teams in their conference and Jefferson and Burnsville are clearly a rung below Edina; I'm feeling more comfortable with their chances in the Section.
Aren't you the guy that picked Minnetonka in a blowout? Didn't happen, and it won't in the rematch. They're good. But not way better than Edina.

Funny thing is, I didn't think Gardiner played all that well. I did watch him very closely tho. I noticed that he turned the puck over a bunch more than I expected he would and he tried to do much too much with the puck, especially late in the game. He is a good player, but I didn't see the Ness-like player I thought I would see.

hey hocheyfan43: your own opinion on what grizz is better...i accept that...but what i dont get is when your talking about me to go sit down when your name is hockeyfan43. so your saying you dont play puck and that you like the #43 because you think your an outcast with that number or something but really all you are is a fan that sits there by your "buddies" and eat popcorn. So go to sleep because you got a big day tommorow.

I thought it was awesome how Breamar was a packed house. That is how games SHOULD be.
Good Game

Very good game to watch. Very impressed with the packed house! Nice to see you 'cidiot' faithful get out and enjoy a bar burner of a game. You folks did the game great justice by packing Braemar, tip of the cap to you folks and the kids that laced them up.
