What a game. Randolph does it again and to me in recent memory. This was the most exciting final I've seen. I believe Randolph said the elks two top scorers have more points than the entire east team? Crazy. I guess that tie earlier in the season wasn't a fluke, as many thought it was.

Good luck to the hounds at state. I'm guessing they will need a lot of it as almost every tram down there will be as good or better than elk river. But then again they did tie LN this season, after getting routed by edina. Should be interesting.

Does everyone this was a Greyhounds comeback or Elks collapse? It definately was a collapse by ER in my mind.

As an East fan, I can say it was more of a collapse than a comeback. The major penalty while East was on life support was game changing. In that situation (3-0 lead) the only thing that can really hurt you is taking dumb penalties. They could have played the rest of the game in almost a complete defensive shell and likely won the game with East's lack of offense this year.

More of a comeback by East then a collapse by ER. Peter Jones collapsed by taking that 5 minute major. That kid took away state from the Elks. Dumbest penalty I have seen in a long time.

This game was all about East's heart and determination. They seemed like they wanted it more than the Elks.

Amazing job Randolph has done creating a culture of winning that just keeps its momentum year after year. Looking forward to Rapids the next few years, this year felt like a bonus if they had made it, they certainly played a good game last week. Really feel bad for Elk River, this was supposed to be their year, seems like they will never win 7AA after this. Hope they get to move to 5AA.

I was on board for riding Jaremko which they did. ER mostly played 2 lines and they were gassed. Not so much collapse as once East got 2 on the penalty they had the advantage especially in OT.

I didn't get to see the game, so I guess I'd pose the question this way. Given the way these 2 teams season's had been going....if you told me Thursday morning that Elk River would have a 3-goal lead after the first period, I (and probably 99% of this board) would have said "Game Over". Therefore I'd say collapse by Elk River.

Hmm 1-1 isn't a tie?

Lakeville North 2, Duluth East 1 isn't.

I think this is a mistake. Elk River doesn't belong in this section. And they don't like being in this section. Take on Brainerd in 7AA and let Elk go south. They complain every year, the fans, about Amsoil.

If they were moved it would probably have been to 8AA first. ER would prefer 5AA with their conference foes but that didn't happen. Administratively ER is in 7AA so that was a factor, Brainerd is an 8AA school and stayed there. Deal with it, ER will be capable of winning the section the next 2 years along with a few other schools.

oh I totally agree the Elks are capable of winning the section the next 2 years along with a few other schools. Without a doubt. Duluth East,
Grand Rapids, whoever the favorites are........they've got their work cut out for them in 7AA. That's why I love this section so much. It's very competitive and northern AA schools.
