The samberg comparison is a stretch. Given he had always gone to school at Hermantown and had played almost his entire pre college career there. His father never played hockey (played basketball)and given he was at Hermantown far in advance of the current run, I can assure you that one has nothing to do with hockey.
This makes sense to me.

Galatz to Hermentown? Are you kidding me? Mommy and daddy trying to chase something or run from something? Isn't this the same kid that moved to Cloquet from a range town a few years ago? Complete joke on behalf of both Hermantown & that family! Both should be extremely embarrassed if true!!

Hibbing, of course. They have basically been a feeder program for the other Section 7 programs.

Galatz is NOT going to Hermantown. He is playing for the Wilderness and will live in Cloquet.

Good luck to the young man, who knows what leagues are more likely to play than others this season, but I have little confidence that MSHSL is going to get anything meaningful off the ground...sadly.

All indications this has now resolved with no change anticipated . Made for interesting summer sightings and rumors though . Then again, in 2020 nothing would surprise us over the next couple months.

Yeah, it would have been a move in the wrong direction under the circumstances this year.

That's not fair that you and WM get to talk in code without sharing with the rest of the group. It's like bringing birthday treats to school and only sharing with one classmate

I guess at this point doesnt matter, SSM and U of N Omaha commit 2003 Charlie Lurie worked out with Edina kids at Braemar a couple/three times this summer.

Move across the country, away from your wife, for your HS kid to play for a coach with serious moral and ethical issues? That’d be a HARD PASS on that one...

It's especially ridiculous considering he's already committed to USC...

Hearing the Lightning Rod program in SW metro has lost at least 2 to Junior’s added an East Coast 12th Grader. Oh the drama!

EP or Chaska? Didn’t think of Chaska as lightning rod program but I know they’ve lost one or two to juniors this summer and I haven’t yet heard confirmation EP had. Just that they are before/afters.

As stated in another thread, it will be hard for HS kids to break into Juniors this year with 5-6 USHL/NAHL teams taking the season off. That's a lot of players with junior experience.

Yes, Lee Smith is Slimy, PERIOD
If you think Lee Smith is "slimy" for getting a transfer or two a year, what do you think of the private schools St Thomas, Hill Murray, Holy Family, Blake, Benilde, Cretin and Breck recruiting hard each year? What would your word be for these coaches? Just curious.
I’m not going to vouch for the recruiting practices of the other private schools, but it is rare for Blake, Breck, and SPA to admit students after freshman year. As a prospective student, you are generally limited to entering at the K, 5 and 9 levels. Yes, these schools obviously recruit players, but they aren’t poaching kids from other HS programs.
You have to be kidding me! Are you serious? They are not poaching players? What world do you live in?

Not sure you would call it poaching BUT...1 player from same conference, 1 from CA, 1 from NJ. At least he’s not savaging one program ala AHA, Jefferson back in the day. He’s going all ZZ Top “I’m bad, I’m nationwide” Spreading the Love
Correction: according to an in the know boarder
DM An additional NJ player is in camp.

A former YHH Wiz Wyatt POY will be leaving Tonka and heading to BSM. I'm surprised TZ didn't scoop this already

Okay...to say I'm not on this scoop is false (smile emoji, smile emoji). Per the school's admin and coaching staff, he is not enrolled, nor on the roster at BSM. When something becomes more public, we hope to be first to the news.

Speculation is more fun...I would venture to guess he finishes semester at Tonka, enrolls at BSM...but does he finish szn w/ Tonka BAA or hop on BSM JV?

I had heard this, but can now confirm: HF starting goalie from last season, Dylan Halliwill, is at Breck. Domino effect after BSM backup Jack Olson transferred to HF.
On the other hand, Breck’s freshman class... woof.
