have many of the teams continued skating? I know AL has ice on Thursdays and I've heard Jet does something with his girls but besides leagues do most of the girls keep skating year round?

Austin not having 8 seniors next year is going to hurt the team big time. It would be news if albert lea didnt make it to state. Austin still has a chance to make it to state again if they all continue to skate all through the summer and go to summer hockey camps. With all of this postive junk that has been said so far about albert lea will most likely go to their heads so you never know this section prediction might change.

Thank you for that enlightening post Swiss... I have honestly been losing sleep over the matter.

So Jet is there any chance of your daughter changing schools?

Austin is very lucky to have her but I'm sure it's not any fun to be so dominant on her team...

My info about the Panther goalies came from the AL Showcase coach. I was told the Panthers have 2 goalies and that one of them is Amy Snyder. I asked a player from the AL team after the game if Snyder played and I was told it was their other goalie. GIGO.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but I don't believe Snyder has ever played for the Panthers, and if she has it's been a very long time--I hear that the Panthers try for the best "non-brats", now I am unaware of her "brattiness" but I know she is not the best...good, yes great, sometimes but the best, no
Though Jet I'm curious to see the areas of your team...who is on it and where are they all from?

Jet, has there been any other girls from this section or from the big nine on the panthers team?

KH here,
it's good to finally meet the renouned jet I've heard so much about.
Austin has a new goalie "Canvas" Better watch out for her...Although her five hole isn't too good, and she is lacking on her upper and lower corners, but aside from that she seems to be a 'wall'.
Will i see your daughter at the golf meet tomorrow? I hope so.
See ya

From Rochester, the Pink Panthers had goalie Sinead Murphy all last year and forward Gretchen Leyendecker occasionally. Beyond last year, Nara Higano has played with them, too. The coach, Jim Walsh, and his daughter, forward Jenna Walsh, used to live in Rochester, now Stillwater.

The Pink team has players from Roseville, Stillwater, Minnetonka, Rochester, Farmington, Benilde, Breck, Mound, Burnsville, Cretin, and others. The State tourney is usually a pink reunion. We are not the best AAA team on paper. We are simply, alot of good kids, that are good friends, that like to have fun, and play hockey during the summer. We have about 25 kids that are on our team, and we play several tournaments, and usually only about 16-17 are available each time, so our makeup varies.
We are completely non-profit, so we simply divide the cost of the tourney among the players. We are not as serious as other AAA teams as in we do not practice. Are girls are usually so busy with other things that it doesn't work out.
Amy Snyder had played on the pink team once in a Fall league but she usually played for that Southern Minnesota Storm team. Of course we never lost to them.

Amy is a kid I enjoy razzing. She can handle it.
The no brat policy, came from a speech I gave our girls, a couple years ago. It was half serious and half humor. Our parents and kids thought it was good. We do have great kids and parents, it is something we look for.
SEhockey dad pretty much sums up the Rochester side of pink.
KH doesn't know this, but last night before the shootout, I told all of the skaters that KH said " no one is going to score on me" , She more than held her own, only allowing 1 to score out of 25. 96% save percentage, pretty good for a tiger.

And no, I don't believe T will be at the golf meet.
My daughter is pretty loyal, when it comes to a transfer. Her character will lead a very young team this year.

Nice, I forgot about this possibilty. New Section 1 goalie rating:
1. AL (this is why AL is the favorite) , 96 save percentage
2. Northfield
3. Faribault
*4. Austin with the Canvas goalie
5. Austin playing 6 players
6. Redwing
7. Waseca
8. Austin with their 06-07 backup goalie
Who was better, Canvas or KH?
Glad to see all this peace, love, and happiness in AL. Was Austin's former #5 invited.

With Austin there, it must of really been some big family reunion.

Have you ever noticed that Austin internet authors can never keep their identites secret as hard as they try. Ex:
Swiss =Austin's #2
Petomwendo= Former Austin's #5 (a.k.a. peace, love, and happiness)
HOCKEYPUCK1 = Austin's backup goalie's dad
Latemodel2003 = Austin's former starting goalie's dad
Jetjock = Austin #12's dad (Although he never tried to hide his identity,
he does choose to live in Austin)
It must reflect on their IQs.
Faribault is the greatest.

I have noticed that and it is a very good point, through my experience I have noticed a majority of people residing in Austin, well mainly born there, are consistantly rather...well slow.
Now Jet, I know you are miles ahead of most people in your town but I must also question why you would chose to live there? Why not Albert Lea? We have one very nice lake, a solid girls hockey program, a Walmart far superior to Faribaults and ice year round. I'm sure you and your family would be very comfortable here and your daughter would make a nice addition the team.

i think this thread needs more balance and objectivity.
Who will vote for Waseca? I feel for them.

well goes to show you that people are pretty good at picking names
cluelessinminnesota, northfield probably has a good chance but waseca is averaging four wins a year and agains the other teams in this section there is a combined score of 41-5, them losing
and caveman, austin has lost 8 seniors! deciding the team to win a section is a little harder than buying car insurence

AL beat the Southsiders today 4-3.
2 of SS goals came on breakaways.
1 came on a 2 on 0...
Shots were about 35-20 in favor of AL.
AL coach switched the D's and F's around.
AL looked pretty gassed with 5 minutes left.

For one thing tigerpower its AUSTIN not austing. You already have you're mind set on AL going to state even before the season begins.

First off, I don't believe you have any reason to give me spelling lessons, which you can hardly do yourself and secondly you should be rather pleased with the fact that YOUR team is losing 3(?) defense- this means possible playing time for you
And not once have I said AL is going to state, I just believe that they, at this point, have the best chance but now if Austin resolves their goaltending problem, that could make things interesting, you can't win every game because you have one scoring machine and from what I've seen on Thursday nights...there's only one person that can score or that even comes

I heard the rumor Coach Falk has resigned... Is this true? He's one of the reasons the team is where they are right now. Was it parent pressure? These next few years were going to be good years to be a tiger.

I do not see why Falk would resign. These next 3 years will be dominating for a tiger. I hope it wasn't parent pressure. He is responsible for where we are today.
Swiss, I haven't seen you for awhile, or maybe I did? I believe you were wearing orange.
Oh no, I think that was a cone our forwards were going around. A cone doesn't trip every shift.
I have bought my tickets to state, to see our Albert Lea ladies play.
Albert Lea is the greatest.

I heard it as well. I agree they were a big part of the team's success and learning.
I can't imagine it was parent pressure. A). They wouldn't stand for an parental BS. B). I never once heard anyone complain about their coaching from the parents.
It sucks and it's really unfortunate for the girls, but the next coach will be stepping into a good situation anyway.

I heard BOTH Falks have resigned for personal reasons (they must attend to their daily job and family duties).
They did not want to quit, but felt it was best for everyone concerned, since the time required to continue to do the wonderful job they were doing was too great.
I respect and have enjoyed both Tom and Steve being associated with the girl's program.
They will be tough to replace.
