Well no matter what anyone says, the game is over and done with. Marshall won and they are going to state. Hibbing isn't. Just get over it.

I have to agree with this in its entirety. I can understand a ref missing one here and there - it happens, even at crucial times in games, but these four have done it repeatedly over and over and over again, game after game after game. They can't even skate fast enough to keep up with the play anymore. That's why you saw no goal signals from them... they were still out at the blue line! They are rarely in position (again because they can't get there) and when the do manage to get into position, they appear to be resting and not paying attention - not to mention all the times these guys get tied up in plays along the boards because they aren't agile enough to get out of the way. I've been watching hockey up here in the northland for many, many years and this year was BY FAR the worst I've ever seen in officiating. The bulk of it came from these four guys.

That "no" goal call in the first period, which they thankfully got straightened out was just one of a hundreds of examples that I, and many others, could point out of their inability to perform as officials. Honestly, how can you not know its a goal when the puck goes in one side of the goaltender, comes out the other side about 95% slower, while the red light goes on and the water bottle pops up in the air - not to mention the players celebrating and the goalie reaction. I think he was the only one in the building, not to mention the thousands watching on TV, that didn't see it go in. I mean it was a good, quick shot and all, but it certainly wasn't a Gaborick type rocket. What was he watching? Good lord! If you were watching it on TV, you probably noticed, he waived it off from the left face off circle - yes, the face off circle. Not from the goal line where he should have been.

I could go on and on about this, but I won't. Thankfully, they really didn't do any damage in this game other than exposing themselves to all this redicule.

I'll end it by saying that the section has to stop giving "seniority" rights to these guys in big games. It ain't right, there are much better options out there. Coaches must just cringe when they see who is assigned to these games - and probably the poor linesman too.

He is complaining about the play being onsides. He believed it should have been offsides. The puck obviously went it, that isn't what he is complaining about.

The play was definately not offsides. At the game, I was sitting on the blue line and I couldn't tell, but i was taping the game at home and when I reviewed it i saw that it was not offsides.

Aaah, the power of the DVR. After further review, while close, it was not offside. The only question was did the net come off before the puck went in....nope. Good game by both teams, Hibbing showed great heart and should be a contender again next season. Marshall showed a champs heart coming back time and again and will represent well down at state. As for the refs, I'll agree with the consensous, poor job once again, but that seemed to be the norm for many games I watched this season.

These refs are going to have to live with this poor performance. They are being criticized constantly and I hope they look back at this game and realize how bad they did. Even if the last play was not offside they still screwed up all season and earlier in the game. They need to get refs from another section not these stupid guys from coleraine. Seems like the worst refs have to run the biggest games.

They couldn't even keep up in the girl's playoff games that I watched this winter. It's painful to even watch a game after you see those clowns step out on the ice during warm ups.

Well Said Puckranger. The Thing i find funny is that he waved it off when 1. The Water Bottle Flew in the Air, 2. The Netting Moved and three, if the puck were to not go in, it would have hit the far boards and ricosheid (SP?) back. The Wonders of DVR is a brilliant statement, i watched the game after that night and i agree he wasnt offsides, i wont say hibbing was screwed because marshall was the better team, Hell of a Game by Both Teams, Hats off to Marshall, Good Luck at state, Represent 7A Well.Tok needs to be Stripped of his Officiating License, this guy is Garbage. Hats off to Hibbing for a Great Year, Really Werent expected to be in the finals again this year, and to Upset the 3rd ranked team in the state to make it to the finals, and Almost go to state, You have to Be Damn proud if your a jackets player/coach/parent/fan etc.

I liked how the Hibbing fans were bashing on I Falls for throwing garbage on the ice after the semifinal game and they turn around and do it wednesday night shows a lot of class.

The guy reffing was not TOK. I do not even think that he refs anymore. I think that he used to play for UMD many years ago. They announced the refs as Hansen, Gager, and Geebow. I think that Hansen was the one without the stache.

After thinking about it, these two guys were in the way all the time during the East/Cloquet game as they were in the Hibbing/Marshal. That is when one leaned on net and watched the play for about a minute. We have the M&M boys down here to watch all year and entertain us. They look like they are going in super slow motion as they try to keep up with the play. I talked to one of the refs down here and he said that the coaches select the refs. Any truth to this? Hopefully we will not have to suffer through and watch any of these guys at the Excel next week. If we do, the MSHSL should be ashamed of themselves.

I got a good dose of the "M&M" boys at the Virginia/Marshall game, looked just like the last time I saw them and was a carbon copy of what I saw from the other two all year long. I think those two might even be a little slower, if thats even possible.

Anyway, as far as I know, the region 7 officials choose the referees, not the coaches. Whether or not the coaches opinions are asked in the process, I don't really know, but I have a very hard time believing for one second that any coach picked these guys to referee. I know most of the coaches share the same opinion as most of us as to their abilities. If they did vote for them, they have to know they might be digging their own team's grave.

Unfortunately Tok does still ref and he's as terrible as ever!
