The kid is solid and one of the top of the class in Pee Wee's but enough with the campaign already

Wasn't me but I did see him play for the 98 nats this summer and the kid has talent. I'm sure plenty of teams would like to have him. He was in net when PL took the ship home in EP.

I was actually cheering for PL this year and I was happy they beat LVS and Eden Prairie. Now it has come apparent the level of phycosis of the PL parents. I actually feel bad for the PL kids because the parents have to ruin a good thing for them. I wish them luck but I will no longer be cheering for them.

I read the closed post and the rant from the PL Dad. While I think hes an idiot for posting what he did, I'm not going to "not cheer" for them. Its nice to see someone other than Edina in D6 who is always on or near the top. For years Edina teams have run up the score on lesser teams in D6,PL, BK, Chaska, Eastview AV. Now you have a program on the rise with PL and the dad just wants more chances to play them! Its called payback. Go PL Go Waconia both teams on the rise! Edina, nice homer job setting up the tournament brackets! Go Farmington Go Centennial!

The man was simply calling the Edina association out. If you read through again, I think he was trying to figure out a reason they were not let in with a competitive tone. What is their reason for not letting them in is a question that should be answered. It's known they take the top teams. I understand not taking a team because they can't hang. ("sent our check back")

Bad blood with associations/parents should not hurt the kids....

Sorry if I offended you, I come to these forums to read and enjoy youth hockey topics, lately it seems every thread I go to I have to read about why PL is this or that and frankly it is getting old.

Most organized teams, and associations, sign up for tournaments in August.

Some PL teams have twice the number of games that other teams in the same association have and I know they also book practice ice, and total amount of ice, without much top down organization. Inequality within the same association which can lead to future organizational issues. Seems as though Association leadership is doling out a little to much freedom to individual teams at the expense of the other teams in the same organization. Growing pains.

I will agree with you that some fresh blood rocking the boat in D6 is awesome. I root for the little guy but Prior Lake is evolving into a large metro association. I watched their growth in baseball too. Huge growth and change in the last 6-8 years.

Do you have first hand knowledge that they signed up later than all of those other teams? Would yu agree that if they didn't that it would be strange that they didn't accept the most talented teams?

Yes, I do think other strengthening programs are a good thing for Mn Hockey.

I saw Tartan play Hastings to a 1-1 tie. Was a very well played game, very fast Tartan had a very nice team, and Hastings was very good, but did look like they had the same energy that they brought against LVS.

I can see both those teams beating some of the higher end teams on a given night.

I couldn't agree more. Please post scores here and start a new thread to discuss your disagreements. No one wants your opinions on parents or the ranking system.

Score from Wednesday night at Apple Valley High School Arena:

Apple Valley-1
Hastings-1

Hastings came into this game on a roll of sorts, their season record was 8-3-1 and in their last two games, the Raiders tied a tough Tartan team 1-1 and kept an even tougher Lakeville South team close for two periods before losing 3-0. That performance put the Raiders in the top 20 teams in the state according to one poll.

On the flip side, Apple Valley really struggled in the early season and has the reverse season record of Hastings, 3-8-1. They played in the Hermantown tourney on the weekend and lost big to the Hawks in the semifinals 8-2. Add to that early season losses to Hastings 5-1 and Tartan 10-4, and this game with the Raiders shaped up as the Eagles hanging on to keep the game competitive.

In a way the Eagles did that. But this is peewee A hockey and with kids anything goes. Hastings had sort of a mini-blitz on the Eagles in the first period of the game, but could never quite put the puck in the net. They eventually took a 1-0 lead, until the Eagles newly formed pony line scored later in the game.

That goal changed the mood for the rest of the game for the Eagles. Instead of Valley relying on their two big gun lines, the pony line continued to push and apply pressure on their shift. In the process, that line had to dodge more than one bullet, but the Eagles confidence in the line grew during that game.

And that is what makes peewee A hockey interesting. It can happen to any peewee A team during the season, the kids make that change, sometimes in a matter of minutes during the game. Maybe it takes a key goal to be scored. Who really knows?

Unfortunately, they are kids and can “unchange” in a short time. That is because there is a learning process.

Hastings had a good team with a lot of potential this year, no “star” players, just a well balanced team with a good defense. They will be tough in D8 and will put the Valley game behind them.

The Eagles are another matter. All the Eagle kids should have proved something to themselves in this game. The question is will it stick?

OG85 - This game was a very defensive game without much offense. Stillwater came out a carried play in the first period but then lost their intensity. Tartan played real well all three periods. They scored an empty netter in the end to make it 4-1. The Titans made the most of their chances. Stillwater outshot Tartan 13-12 for the game so you can see that it was a defensive game. Tartan has a very gritty team and will sneak up some teams this year.

I think they are up in Duluth this weekend, same w/us[FL] and WBL. Be nice to see a D2 team advance to Sun.
