Hutchinson (4-0-0)- Their 11-2 rout over Marshall served notice that this team is scary. They have two solid forward lines. Led by top line of Graf-Cowger- Glaser this team looks like the favorite in Section 3A. Huge match up with New Ulm Friday.
The Contenders
New Ulm (1-1-0)- A puzzling loss to Marshall early but I will go with the odds here they returned everyone from a Section Final team a year ago they will get things going. They are in need of a big win on their home ice vs. Hutch on Friday.
Luverne (4-1-0)- Lot of talent that doesn’t seem to be producing at the moment outside of Smedsrud-Nelson-Verhey not much depth on the Cards team right now. Reading the reports sounds like their D is suspect not a great start to the year but Luverne will be a team no one will overlook in 3A.
LDC (3-1-0)- Have a great core of young players that are growing up this season. They will be dangerous come the end of the year. Should be a fun team to keep an eye on as the season plays out.
Willmar (2-1-0) – This will be a solid team that we play a tough style. They are similar to Marshall but with more talent. They have a big match up with Marshall on Saturday.
Marshall (2-2-0)- Had an up and down week. Played right with Luverne and then beat New Ulm only to get trashed by Hutch. Has another big week again this week Concluding with Willmar on Saturday.
Best of the Rest
Redwood Valley (3-1-0) Young team with a new coach and they seem be having a much more productive year this year.
Morris Benson (1-4-0)- has not gotten off to the start they would have hoped after returning a lot of the same talent from last year most improved team.
Windom (1-3-0) Had struggles with Worthington… YIKES!!
Fairmont (0-3-0) Not seeing a whole lot of progression in this program.
Worthington (0-6-0)- Going to be a very LONG YEAR for the Trojans.
Luverne is a contender but will need to find scoring depth.notTONIGHT wrote:The other accounts werent garnering enough attention?? haha..Section 3A HockeyScout wrote:It is early but 3A looks like a fun race this year.

You know the Cards are NOT contenders this year. Cmon trout, give it to us!
Just to be clear...16 is not in the top 10. Maybe slip your shoes off next time.notTONIGHT wrote:Only 2 of the blueliners that played saturday played Defense for the Cards last year. Luverne has a forward playing D, and a couple sophomores. All will be just fine with some development. It was an abrupt change in the pace of play the Cardinals have seen so far this year. Thats what happens when you play top 10 teams. When the kid who was a pillar on the blue line last year comes back, I anticipate the transition game to be immensely better. He's also a very physical presence for a little guy, so that helps also. The future is still bright for this squad. Lots of season and development left. Roll Cards!hawkenjonny wrote:Herbie? Sounds like the cardinals took it on the chin Saturday. Also heard the SOG count was skewed in favor of SPA but may not have been accurate. My question is what is all this about inexperienced D? According to the hub (I know, I know) the players that were on the blue line were 3/4 upperclassmen? Also heard via the not always accurate hockey grapevine that 3 of the 5 goals resulted from some mistakes by the same D pair and possibly an ill-advised stretch by the goalie. Still doesn't explain the lack of offensive production. Still early, come on cards, find some chemistry!
So your bashing SPA here?InigoMontoya wrote:Just to be clear...16 is not in the top 10. I don't see any bashing of SPA. If anything it's pointing out that Luverne lost to a team outside of the top 10, and it's more of a bashing of Luverne.notTONIGHT wrote:So your bashing SPA here?InigoMontoya wrote:Just to be clear...16 is not in the top 10. And rightfully so.
C'mon, learn your numbers.
I personally love your posts, but I wouldn't suppose the rest of Rock County agrees with me. I love the image of your jeans held up with a length of rope as you head off to Bluemound, your Carhartts reeking of English Leather, two steps behind NotTonight, mumbling, 'yeah, yeah, Trout, he-he'.Whiner33 wrote:Really?elliott70 wrote:Not sure, but I think he is bashing you.notTONIGHT wrote: So your bashing SPA here?

I thought indigo might be power washing the manure out his skates yet??

(At this point in time Inigo (not Indigo) draws his epee and pierces poor ol' Whiner through the heart.)
For a kids' movie, its a great movie.
As opposed to those of you into 'Prince Charming'.notTONIGHT wrote:If you're into princesses....elliott70 wrote:You killed his father (read insulted him). Prepare to die.Whiner33 wrote: Really?

sterfry9 wrote:assuming luverne makes it to state again this year, do you guys think they need to beat totino to get a seed in the tourney or do you think they can lose both the spa and totino game and still get 1 of the seeds this year?
And it depends on who makes it.notTONIGHT wrote:sterfry9 wrote:assuming luverne makes it to state again this year, do you guys think they need to beat totino to get a seed in the tourney or do you think they can lose both the spa and totino game and still get 1 of the seeds this year?
Answering the question regarding your assumption, Luverne wouldn't deserve a seed IMO if they lose both of those games.
What was the score of that game? Are you sure it was 11-2? The hub has 12-3 and Ive heard conflicting reports. When I click on Cowgers profile on the hub it says he had 8 goals in that game. Follow the puck has it at 11-3. With Cowger having 4 goals. I think the hub is just doing some whacky stuff with the Hutch results, which isn't a surprise.Section 3A HockeyScout wrote:It is early but 3A looks like a fun race this year.

Bardown did you go to this one?bardown27 wrote:Hutch 4

I know that the hub isn't the most reliable source, but it shows only ten players that have played in all five of chaska's games. Lack of numbers could have something to do with it.Whiner33 wrote:Bardown did you go to this one?bardown27 wrote:Hutch 4

Chaska that bad?
