No one yet, but hearing any quality candidates are not pursing the position because of what happened to Tom. People don't feel like the school will support them.

Keeping a top quality goalie could lead to other quality players staying. Also, LVN's talent pool, on the LVN side alone, is deeper than it has ever been with maybe the exception of goalie. After Edquist, who is there that could be a difference maker in net? LVS has a difference maker in its pipeline. Also, it won't be as easy for LVS kids to squeeze out LVN kids, so why run the risk of not getting a varsity spot by making the jump over to LVN? The LVS kids that have been high-end youth players over at South, with the exception of Olsen, are mostly undersized, while LVN has some really good sized kids in the pipeline who can skate.
Curious about the LVN pipeline as you say it is deeper than ever. When looking at the Bantam AA & B1 seasons I see Eastview & Eagan finished above them in both groups. Eastview also had a nice run in AA post season. Curious if those two programs were pretty solid at the Bantam level? I do see the LVN had a lot of Bantam teams guessing they have the best numbers in the South Sub right now.

Without getting into a lengthy explanation, in a nutshell:

High numbers + HS coach involvement + late bloomers + solid athletes = Deep pipeline of talent in the 98-01 birthyear range.

Highly political association = Watered down youth teams.

While many other associations may be just as political, I would venture to guess that none could possbily be more political than LV, and that includes Edina. A couple of recent two year Bantam AA players would have struggled to make the B1 team of many associations - small, slow, and ineffective.

My speculation says bad speculation above. They have a top goalie who statistically was better in the B.E.L. than who I think you are referring to. I also think both tried out for H.S. this year and they took the one I am referring to over the one you are referring to - but I am not for sure both tried out. The reason the one you may be referring to would move out is because this other goalie, a better goalie, is in his way? Bottom line - at the end of the day - no near term goalie issues at south and I don't think this would be a very big reason in deciding on the coach hire.

Heard that Bill Owens had applied up in IFalls. Sounds like he is a good Coach, but also heard there are some other issues that may outweigh that.

You all better believe Sats81 regarding EGF coaching situation, because when he spouts off, people listen.

After all he is the voice of MNHS hockey, besides kark(east).
