What does it say when you need the refs help to beat a soft team?

Just another Metro casualty

Fair enough!

I know individual talent only goes so far... but i thought this would be an interesting thing to view and give you fella's something to argue about...

I'll start out by saying I know a lot about Edina's players and little about other teams' players (and there's plenty that I know nothing about). So I speak only from what I know.
I'd say that Lee should be ahead of Gaarder (though a top ten spot for Gaarder seems quite reasonable). In fact, I'd find it plausible to see Budish, Lee, and Everson as the top three junior forwards. I wonder why I haven't heard more about Landman if he is the top junior forward--but it is true that talented guys sometimes fly a bit under the radar, so I will not dispute it.
Also, it's too bad they've forgotten Baker, who is even better than Regan.

Yeah, I would also have expected Fabian to at least be on the list. And Sophomore Kevin Erickson somewhere on his respective list

Looking at common opponent Buffalo
Rams 3- Sabres -0
Hornets 9 Bison -1
Hornets 3x better on scoring (9/3 = 3)
Rams infinitly better on D (1/0 = undefined, approaching infinity)
(Also Rams played the better Buffalo team.

Who says Rams schedule is "Soft")
Approaching Infinity >>>> 3x
Therefore, must go with Rams. (It is the new Math).
Guess we will all hope that we get to see this matchup March 8 at ~7pm).

not so fast my friend

The goal in hockey isn't to entirely prevent the opponent from scoring, it is to score more goals than your opponent.
Edina's margin of 8 is more than twice Roseau's margin of 3. I think you've overthought this.

If the goal is merely to score more than your opponent than Edina's margin compared to Roseau's is irrelevant. I think you overthought that.

If you go by strength of schedule, Edina is much better. I have yet to see that trophy for strength of schedule however

I will agree Edina has a tougher schedule, however the purpose of the game is to win against your single opponent at that very moment. Edina has done this very well, but the Rams have done it better. Yes, Edina has beaten better opponents than Roseau has, but they have also lost to more. You can't knock a team that goes out and gets it done EVERY time. but you can't say they are better than Edina until they have met face to face. Looking forward to March

Let's just hope they get a chance to settle it on the ice in the state final. Not much left now short of not getting out of sections that should change them from 1 & 2 seeds at the tourney but a tough road to get there, especially in Edina's section.

And the Pats were suppose to beat the Giants based on strength of schedule and ranking and who they each played and how much they beat them by...........oops......how did that work out for the Pats? Not to good, lets see what happens on the ice on any given day........both of them may not make it! And thats all I got to say about that, other then lets all have a Colorado Bulldog and cant we all just get along!

AGREED!! This is Minnesota, we cant let a few disagreements betwen Citiots and Nort'eners come between our rights as Minnesota citizens to preserve
"Minnesota Nice"....
It just seemed like that needed to be said. I, personally, could care less as long as the hockey's good!

Pistol you are so SMRT!

The Tartan loss and SSP tie, 3 or 4 goal loss to Tonka make the PIONEERS much better than the Hornets and Rams.

Roseau shuts out PS2 #7 Blaine, 1-0 and gets ripped on. Edina gives up 3 goals and sneaks out a 4-3 win over PS2 #26 Hopkins and no one mentions it??

That is because Edina hung the 2008 strength of schedule banner already. The rings and medals are on order
