Highlight of the night:
When all the St. Thomas parents gasped after Hanowski saluted thier precious boys. He must have been planning that for awhile, because he had full finger extension and everything!
Without his antic though, Hanowski was the best player on the ice for both teams. Where will he play in the future?

too bad hanowski looks like a complete moron for saluting them because STA won......and for the 3rd year in a row Hanowski will see Mariucci.....

.......good for little falls (hanowski's) they played a great game but i think saluting the cadets is pretty pathetic because i dont think anyone believes he really meant it in honor, so grow up hanowski and actually play the game without being such a sore LOSER for the 3rd year in a row.....

I'm sure little Walters was incredibly honorable when he answered back. They must teach great honor, especially when all thier players leave. Honor. I didn't know you had to pay for honor?

It's been said that knowone else except for the Hanowskis live in the area, so I'm guessing nobody left.
STA deserved to loose today. They played bad, and if you think otherwise, then you're the moron.

Ben Hanowski is verbally committed to SCSU to reply to your earlier question and we cannont wait to get him!
LF was a couple of players (and if one of them could have been a D) away from taking this game over. They took over the second period and obviously the depth was not there yet this is CLASS A HOCKEY SO IT SHOULD NOT BE THERE WITH THREE LINES DEEP. THIS IS CLASS A HOCKEY RIGHT? All in all they played a good game and could have one but came up short, but a decent game played by sperl helped them out. Walters looked good but certainly did not outplay Hanowski as Walters was the recepient of some nice passes by an outmatched defensive core, with some tap ins that any good HS player would have made if in the right position.

Little Falls, you're in the consolation bracket of the JV tournament...complain all you want about STA and how you got beat, but you can take your purple jerserys to Mariucci where you belong...Litttle Falls, Little Talent minus the Hanowskis!!!

If your spelling is any indication, I would guess your a product of a outstate public school. Hang in there buddy, the world needs plow drivers too. "knowone" loves Mariucci more than Little Falls.

wow your cool Little Falls is a small rural town with a population of 7000 and there isn't any kids outside of morrison county except one who is from upsala. They don't recruit kids from all over the state...They're a legitimate Class A team. I suppose that is probably why they lose because they play fair...

you whine you so much when you lose. STA deserved to win that game, i don't know how you can say otherwise. go cry over in the consolation bracket and see if anyone cares.

Yeah, I wonder through the years after leaving this school how many of these boys come out of the closet!

Star Tribune Article by John Millea titled " Cadets should be
skating with the big boys" is how most small town hockey
programs look at this issue.

I really hope you all know that STA will graduate 10 senior hockey players this year (One of the highest numbers in the state). Some of these seniors have been here since STA's first above .500 season in 7 years (2005). These seniors were also key players on the championship team in 06. They will also for sure lose Ryan Walters, and it is highly likely that sophomore Christian Isackson will be gone too. So before rushing to judgement keep in mind that their top line next year will look something like Kevin Sienko, Noah Gavin, and Justin Crandall. These players, while very good, are not quite as good as the top players on this years team. A team like this would not make it out of any AA section, and they will struggle in their own section. So keep in mind that just because they have a few good years does not make them a top program in the state. It also does not automatically make them a AA team.

I don't think St. Thomas is a class aa team. If the mshsl puts them in class a great, play there. Doing what everyone suggests in this and so many other cases(not just private schools) would wreck the integrity of class a.

I agree. If most of the good teams opt up to 2A, the A tournament will have even more empty seats than it already does, much like the old and ill-fated "Tier II" tournament they tried a few years ago.
As it is now, there is very good talent in 1A and is fun to watch.
