Edina White absolutely destroyed Blue. White is very quick and aggressive. Going to be hard to beat this year! Minnetonka has shown up well at the Moose. They have looked very good in both games. I guess I should've kept my mouth shut about them! We will have a new number 1 after this weekend! I'm very impressed with Edina White. By the way what the heck happened with their evaluations? Green is not even close to white? Something fishy there.......

SPS - you are right on. There will be a shake-up in the BB1 rankings for next week after this week's Thanksgiving tourney's. Here are my assessments:
Moving up:

Blake
Chaska
Moving Down:
EP Black
Duluth East (way down)
Rochester Black (way down)
Moving In:
Minnetonka
Jefferson

Supposedly Edina's tryouts are completely political. The coaches literally just sit up there and decide who they want on their team, so they could already have the teams picked before tryouts.

I have seen both Edina teams play and Edina Green is very good. I have spoken to some Edina parents that thought the Green team would be the better team given the white team has 7 first years.

White Bear lake black looks very good and they have a very good goalie. Edina White has good movement but it will be a good game to see who wins!?!?!

Surprise team of the Moose tournament: Minnetonka
They came into the one of the toughest BB1 tournaments in the state unranked and played 3 solid games against #5 Duluth East, #11 WBL Black and #1 Wayzata Blue. No one on this board thought they deserved to be in it.
Roseville tourney results B1

The Roseville tourney did not have the "big dogs", but it was a great weekend of hockey.
Blaine took the championship over St. Cloud with a goal in the last 22 seconds. 5 of the weekend games were decided in OT, 2 in a shoot out and 1 in a double shoot out. It was good hockey, no injuries and only one check from behind!
The only team that got blown out of the water was Como, but they just filled their roster last week and these were their first games.
Rochester Red, Princeton, Chisago, and Roseville should be ranked pretty close together. Blake looked strong and I think they took 3rd.
Rochester Red had one parent (a mother) who should have been thrown out for her constant negative yelling and complaining.

Edina White won over White bear lake black 1-0 in OT

make that 1-0 in second OT (3 on 3 with goalie)
It was great game but I think that both teams are capable of better hockey.
Too much desperate passing and not a lot of quality scoring chances.
It did make for a very good Championship game at the Moose though.

Round 1
Blaine 14 Como 0
Blake 7 Chisago 4
St Cloud Red 2 Rochester White 1
Princeton 3 Roseville 2 OT
Semi's
Blaine 4 Blake 1
St Cloud Red 3 Princeton 2 OT?
Ship: Blaine 4 St Cloud Red 3
Third: Blake 11 Princeton 2
Cons: Chisago over Rochester
7th Roseville over Como
Blaine and Blake were clearly the best teams. Chisago and St Cloud Red had good showings.

What a championship last night at the Moose! Back and forth. White played sloppy and had they played anywhere near their potential it would have been a lot mor lop sided. It is to be expected though in the first big game of the season. WBL Black has got some solid defense and a couple of nice skaters but White is officially the team to beat right now. Whoever posted the comment that Green is very good too is right but these two teams are not even close. White is more disciplined and can pass better than anyone I have seen. Green doesnt play as well together as White.
Minnetonka played a great tournament. Big surprise. Played gutty in all three games. They have a bad group of parents though. Very poor, all over the refs, taunting the other teams parents. It was bad for all three games but yesterday was embarrassing.
2cents, I like the rankings, I think they are accurate. The Edina brackets are out. That is the next one to circle on the calendar.

My2cents,
If that is how you "see it", all I can conclude is that u are from Maple Grove and You are "blind". (Your top 4 look good though). By the way, didn't EP Red just beat Maple Grove? #8? get real.

Yes the Tonka parents were loud in the 3rd place game, but they did not taunt the Wayzata parents. Come on SPS!
I was standing right between both groups and actually talked to the other dads during the game.
If that was a D6 game, BOTH teams would have had 10+ penalties.

I think I know what the Blue in blue blood stands for. It was pretty ridiculous. Every hit was contested. Minnetonka wanted a penalty every time there was any contact. Win the game at full strength. You cant depend on penalties to try to win. If the kids see that then they start whining to the refs and it takes away from the goal. Beat a team straight up. Wayzata got away with a few but so did Minnetonka there wasnt any bias as far as I could see.
I just hope you werent the guy looking over at the opposing parents and giving the fist pump. I dont know where that came from but grow up, its a game.
Just a note, I am not affiliated with either team.

This is the same thing that happened last year at some of the levels; unsportsmanlike parents. Looks like they are starting their own tradition!

IM4U:
Relax buddy.
I based my rankings before I saw the results of the Hopkins Tourney. Now I see that they need some fine tuning. Chaska lays an egg vs Elk River and EP Red beats Maple Grove throws a wrench into it. Also, Chisago Lakes tied Centennial Red the other day.
I am not from Maple Grove. The Happy face happens when you use the 8 follwed by ")" and you forget to turn off the "smilies".
Also, you can't base rankings on only one week's play. It's early and there are some talented teams that are playing a little inconsistent.

Maybe the "fist pump" was by the dad of the kid who scored with 1 second left in the second period to tie the game 2-2.
Maybe it was the dad of the goalie who stopped many shots on the 5 on 3. Parents get excited at games, they're supposed to.
I didn't say the Tonka parents weren't loud. The Wayzata parents weren't exactly quiet either.
Enough discussion about parents.

Agreed, parent truce is in effect.
What is happening this week? There should be some good D6 matchups. Looks like MG might be the third contender for D3. Anyone have anything about MG??
How about Burnsville or Jefferson it seems like they could be sleepers for a regional berth.
Centennial is really struggling this year. I dont understand that. Is that association hurting that bad for numbers? Do they have a different coach this year. Something is wrong.
Upcoming D6 action

by blueblood
Will see how Jefferson and Tonka shake out after these 5 upcoming D6 games:
Jefferson vs. Burnsville on 12-2
Tonka vs. Chaska on 12-3
Jefferson vs. EP Black on 12-4
Tonka vs Edina White on 12-7
Jefferson vs. Edina Green on 12-8
It's gonna be a dogfight to get out of D6. There appears to be 8 quality teams right now and only 3 make regional playoffs. Beginning this year, all D6 regional bids are based on district playoff results.
Tonka is also going to play Stillwater next Friday night.
