What about MN High School hockey? I think the bankroll continues to help there.[/quote]

You are correct! I thought about that after I submitted it. As for the real next level, you can not buy your kid on the team.

I hope for B. Thompsons sake he is still able to attend Northern Educate. Not to long ago that was the school that best suited his educational needs. LOL at my song.

The posts concerning him weren't about "the next level". They were about him going from a MN hs team, Achievers, to an Ohio u16 team.

Therefore, I stand by my post, in general terms at this level, if not specifically, which I don't know of course.

Both meatheads are in Omaha playing U16. Tyler got listed by the Winterhawks after last falls camp, and will give it a go again next fall.

PB, I have no idea what you are talking about.... The Revolution was done by me as a favor, it was not working at Achiever, so either he sits out a year or plays. Not a hard decision. I love how everybody knows the best path for someone else's kids. 21 single A games, or is there a better way??

Also, for a fourteen year old to play on arguably the best U16 team in the nation, is the next level. You can't buy your way onto this team.

Don't blame you leaving, looks like a lot of issues there and playing more games. I looked at their schedule, are they going to be playing the Mission, CYA, Little Caesars, etc coming up in any tournaments? Looks like they are at that level and should play those teams than the teams they are currently playing they are beating up on. Or is that a totally different league? Looks like a good option for your boys.

I am new to the program and only know I like the coach and how his team plays. The tournaments are either PHL or HPHL. One has a level playing field and the other can be lopsided. Either way there things to be learned.

FN', good luck to the boys and can understand the situation. Still don't understand why Heid left when SLP probably would have been favorites in 5A this year.

Backes seemed to do fine at SLP...

Add Heid and Ellingson on that team......they'd probably be a top 5-10 team.

I never said he bought his way onto the team.

My point was it takes daddy's $ to jump from ship to ship, especially with the examples given, and I stand by that statement.

So I guess you were correct; you had not idea what I was talking about

The problems in SLP stem from defense, and a lot of that is coaching. Good move for Heid to leave, I hope Long is next. That team has the talent to be top 5-10 even with their current players but they lack team cohesiveness and defensive discipline.

I'd rather encourage a kid to stay, and try to improve a team, than leave because of any perceived problems with it.

Better for the kid, better for the team.

The grass will always be greener, with the mindset of leaving if something is wrong with a team, especially since there is no perfect team.

Or maybe I'm reading your comments wrong ?

In general I definitely agree with kids staying to play High School hockey but I also realize that every situation is different. With the coaching staff that SLP has, he's only going to develop to a certain point, and I think he has much more potential than he could achieve at SLP, just my opinion though.

Young enough where he could have been there for their best chance this year and found other options next year. Terrible time to bail on your teammates.

Are the coaches even worse than Lakeville North's?

Understood. Don't agree with leaving hs, especially for these reasons, but their choice I guess.

Thanks for the reply.

Has a list been started for 2014-2015?

Will the list hit 50 this year?
