What is all the hype about the Tartan goalie.....
Wasnt hype during the regular season, no offense to him but maybe not a big game goalie....???

Goal differential between the tied teams, but only in the games between the tied teams...
Edina was 0
Wayzata was +3
Jefferson was -3
Edina beat Jefferson 5-1 but lost to Wayzata 4-0
Wayzata beat Edina 4-0 but lost to Jefferson 4-3
Jefferson beat Wayzata 4-3 but lost to Edina 5-1
If you do the math you'll ge the goal differentials by looking at those games...

people come on this board and try to make people think gierke can walk on water...good goalie indeed...but the hype. The team played a fairly soft schedule for the majority of the season. District 2 is down. They steam rollered alot of teams. Not too tough being a goalie playing with the lead and seeing 15 shots per game. 3 games this weekend... outscored 11-4.

It wasnt all gierke that had an affect on the losses
True he has had a recurring groin injury that flaired up again since tryouts from last year selects that affected his games in st cloud, but of the 8 goals allowed (one that didnt cross the line vs ER) I would say one was soft. The rest were deserved by a much improved hermantown, defensive failures, and YES penalties that have always haunted this team.
I would also agree that the schedule tartan had wasnt real tough overall and many games they only saw 15 shots. You guys should know by now " A goalie can't always win a game, you just don't want them to lose any". Gierke stole alot of games this year and I don't believe HE ALONE lost any.

If the groin is that bad, play the other guy. Or did Gierke play all the games this year. Oh by the way the goal was in against ER. It first hit his pad that was seven inches inside the net. Then came to rest on the line. This I heard from Tartan parents talking amongst themselves. They got the word from the D2 people who were behind the net. Thorhockey all of your posts about Tartan talk about their goalie...are you him or perhaps his father? Same question was asked of you during their Duluth tourney, where he did have an outstanding game vs Edina...Hmmmm...

the goal was not in. haha. the refs knew it didn't but still decided to go with the goal judge. trust me i would know i was RIGHT there. rested on the line and never went in. bad call that decided the game.

E.P. 2 (ENG)
Edina 0
Edina had an inside pipe in the second period that would have tied the game at 1. Overall Edina outplayed E.P. in almost the whole game but the thing that made the difference was Meyers, he won the game for them. Overall it was a very fun game to watch with a good high pace of play.
