Hermantown - 5 (EN)
Little Falls - 3
Should be a very entertaining game to watch with a couple of potent offenses!

I know the goaltending has been shakey at times, especially early in the season, but since Feb 1st LF has given up 0, 0, 7 (The MB debacle), 0, 1, 0, 2 and 1. Other than the Morris Benson game the LF defense has been pretty solid.

Brighton, I did not say that the Flyers saw some strong defensive teams this year...I said they saw some very good goaltending. There is a difference.
You get Festler or Ben Hanowski on a break away and they are tough to stop, but I did see them stopped by some very good goaltending this year. I saw them stopped by some good goaltenders who move well post to post, as the LF top line has a precision passing game. Festler, in Elite 1 saw some excellent goaltending this fall. (Recall that he likely would have been highest for points in that league also had he not missed a couple of games.) Many of these tenders did NOT advance to State. My point being: defense has to take care of the LF #1 line long before they make it to the goalie or the scoring roll will begin. This line shoots a lot. They have quick hands with great foot speed.

My guess Hermantown wins with ease.
I would say
Hermantown 6
Little Falls 2
Little Falls wont know what hit them.

I see where you're coming from here.....but i hope you factor in that the 1st line of little falls has somewhere are 300 points.
I think this is going to be one heck of a quarterfinal game...and i think it's a tough draw for both teams
carom karma you have a way with words, but I think Htown's D has proven it time over! your atad to ofensive.
True, 300 points is a lot, but look at the teams... It's not that I have a lack of confidence in their scoring ability, but they will not be putting up 8,9, or 10 goal games at state, like they have against cake teams in their section unless they played AL maybe

Sorry AL no offense! We will see what happens, I just hope the hawks play carries over into the tourny.

I just heard that Grant Huttle should be ready come Wednesday, after being injured in the section championship last week. This is good news for the Hawks as he is one of their younger player (So.) that contributes a great deal.

hermantown will win. little falls has upset potential but how good is their goalie? Hardy has played solid this year and stepped up when his team wasn't scoring. i have seen the skill of these forwards but it ain't easy to get a breakaway on hermantown. the only way decenzo got one was because to players on hermantown ran into each other. It isn't easy to beat these hermantown D one on one.
6-3 htown

Festler is the purest goal scorer in the state

Hermantown will need to score more then six to win this one

Trust me Syd, Little Falls isn't putting six goals in on Wednesday night. Hermantown hasn't given up 6 goals all year, and that is agaisnt some MUCH better teams then Little Falls. Cloquet managed 0, Duluth Marshall managed 1. They average giving up 1.6 goals per game, so 6 might be streching it a bit.
Hermantown has given up...
5 goals - 1 time
4 goals - 1 time
3 goals - 4 times
2 goals - 7 times
1 goal - 11 times
0 goals - 4 times

Whoa. So you think LF will score 5 or more goals on Hermantown Syd? Only one team has done that to Hermantown all year. That will be a tall task to ask this LF team but they will have to do that if they want to win. I just don't see it happening.

Best of luck to LF. This will probably be the highest scoring game of the tourney and should be a ton of fun to watch.

You will regret that comment when small Falls Coach Couture is doing the Bumblebee Jig at center ice.

Let's get absurd while we're at it.

It not your fault, you just haven't seen enough of LF.

The Hawks are deep with good players, with LeBlanc being a great player. Possibly too much for the young Flyer team to skate with in a typical game. May require the coaching staff of LF to "think outside the box" and throw the book out the window and try and outscore the Hawks in a freewheeling battle. In any case, this was a bad draw for both teams - the Hawks deserved to play an "8" seed(if they would have seeded all

and the Flyers earned a shot at someone other than the #1 seed.
