I think that , for once, they got it right. Seeding can never hurt but it can help the tournament.

I like the idea of 1-4. It gives credence to the idea that we want to see all the "best" teams advance to the semis and also gives credence to the idea that we really dont know so lets keep some of it random.

I like it just the way it is.

I think they finally did the correct thing, though it took them decades long enough... the old system actually discriminates against the top teams and gives an advantage to the David's. This way record and schedule toughness mean something.

The only thing that went astray, in my opinion, in doing just the 1-4 was the Edina/Rapids match up. In class A all the top seeds won. In Class AA only one top seed won. Blaine got the 4 seed, while one of Rapids and Edina had to lose. Sure, they were seeded higher, but was it really an upset? I'd say no. They played earlier and Rapids lost 3-4 without White in their line up. I'm not sure what the results were, but this is a perfect example of where they should seed everyone, not just the top 4.

Class A is basically a couple top teams and then the rest. AA isn't so much like that, but not doing it 1-8 will probably create things like this in the future.

Get rid of the seeding. The more politics involved in this great tournament, the worse it gets. Maybe to make it more fun, do what a previous thread mentioned....Have a 1/2 hour or 1 hour show on channel 45 (or FSN) on sunday and draw names out of a hat live on TV to see who plays who, and then preview each game. No politics.

Call me names or what have you, but having an unseeded bracket where more than 1 place is given out doesn't make sense by the definition of it. This year was also an example of why only seeding part of it shouldn't happen in AA while teams are still allowed to opt up.

Without seeding the consolation champ, 2nd place and 3rd place all mean the same thing. Then there's the consolation final loser and the 4th place team that are the same. But if you seed all the places make sense.
