The guidelines are pretty specific, they cannot evaluate. Minnesota has always chosen not to have them participate, it just seems prudent because we don't want any compliance problems for the coaches. Besides, we want them here to view the players as much as possible, rather than working the event. USA Hockey is allowed to have them be a part of the program as the National Governing Body. They can get the necessary approval from the United States Olympic Committee as they provide the players for the Olympics.

I would say the wording is poor on the NCAA guideline, but it's still pretty clear. I assume this is why they participate in COACHING at the final phase (NY/St. Cloud) - but may then even get the USOC approval/waiver just to be certain all is ok...

And, to be clear, some will ask if D1 coaches can guest coach at a clinic, camp, etc. Yes - provided that it's OPEN to all to register I believe. Examples of this are the Os "Prospects" and the Great Northern Skills Fest I believe? If there were selections or evals being made and not open to all then there may be a problem I assume?

Looks like the 17/18 is well underway:

http://www.usahockey.com/Season/Tournam ... eyType=ICE

Not sure how you can view stats with the new website, but I did see that:

Smith & Trunzo each put up 2 goals
Holmes had a goal & assist
Weber, Seeler, & S. Erickson each scored one
Keys, Ludwigson, & Williams each had an assist

Not sure how to find the goalie stats for Grogan, Muske & Thunder...

I was just able to pull stats for the games played thus far. When you go to the USA Hockey site, go to the Schedule tab for the Girls camp. You will see all of the games listed. Choose stats after the games that have been played and it will display the goals, assists, penalties and goalie stats. Hope this works. I had to try a few times to bring this up, so they may still be having some issues with the site.

The navigation is not intuitive, and basically sucks. Way too many clicks to find what you want. In fact, it is quicker to come here, and click on the link GHS posted, than it is to go through the USA Hockey site.

Also, keep in mind that the games are played in the evening in LP and Rochester, and Colorado is two hours behind eastern time. The site was supposed to allow for direct updating of stats, but presently it looks like you have to wait until the day after a particular game to see the stats.

Good points and I'm still having trouble finding what I wanted to!

First Day Stats

Minnesota can claim 27 of the 120 skaters (22.5 pct). Yet, after Day 1, we scored 11 of the 29 goals (38 pct). We contributed 7 of the 30 assists (23.3 pct). Not a bad Day 1 for the State of Hockey. Keep it up!!!

From the goalie standpoint, Grogan faced 7 shots and allowed no goals. Thunder faced 18 shots and allowed 1 goal. Muske, the At-Large selection also faced 18 shots but allowed 4 goals. She wasn't on any of the Phase II teams. Anyone know her story?

Sounds like Feste & Ketcher both scored as well in their 1st game but the online stats are wrong...

Daggit also had an assist in the first game for Purple. Didn't see any results yet for the second games.

These issues make me wonder if we can trust any of the online stats, etc....

Good point. They really need to go back to the PDF daily update sheets, as they have the wherewithal to compile all the statistical info you could ever want, and with the new site, no way to really display it. A simple link to the PDF would make it much easier to find, and then disemenate.

Either that, or have a thread here, and have someone in attendance at the camp for the week post to it.

Agreed - this is one of those examples of where an "upgrade" may not always be quite that... I thought the old site/setup did a great job and I believe it was usually pretty accurate

Indeed, nice week for the future Gophers while competing with many of the best. A pretty good camp for a few in the Gopher recruit class to follow as well.
