i'd say that Saint Thomas Arena is up in the top 5. It has great ice, and amazing seating. also, i think that the new Herb Brooks place and rink in the super rink is pretty cool. and yes the barn is a cool place. the ice is hard and almost perfect, but it is freazing in there

You can't even tell it's that cold when your playing though.

I would have to completely disagree. No way could it be in the top 5 for all the rinks in MN, let alone in the top 5 for modern rinks.
What part of the seating is amazing? There is one side of bleachers. STA needed an arena so they hacked one in quick. Nothing like playing in a facility with a giant wall to see. Its huge wall, huge bare wall, huge wall then bleachers.
There are so many nice rinks, but for some reason I love playing at Wakota arena in SSP. Every time I step on the main sheet of ice there it brings back so much from youth to HS. Just miss the stadium seats they use to have on the east side of the rink (behind the benches). But the old brown wood seats, miscolored tinted lights. It wasn't the nicest, but looking back it made it fun place to play. Now its even better with the clear lighting and seamless glass. There is just something about skating on the rink which was home to Housley as well as the Woogs and many others.
Other than that I'm going to have to be biased and say my hometown rink here in IGH. The VMCC (Veterans Memorial Community Center) just has the best ice I've played on in the metro. Especially with the new cooling system the just installed this past summer. Seating is great. Just an awesome venue to play and watch games; and there are A LOT of game to watch there... from youth through Jr's as well as frequent Pro practices. Mostly visiting teams but the Wild will skate there when needed. Great arena. Not the best in the state by any means. But I will say probably the best modern arena in the area.

None for Roseau?????
the wood beams, the ceiling, the banners, the old bleachers, very nostalgic....and seemed like good ice.
Same with EGF, climb stairs to the ice surface......different,
THE OLD ARENA at Theif River Falls, talk about old school.......

out of all the ones ive played at.
Grand Rapids was pretty nice. (only been there once)
and out of all d6, (which ive been to each many many times).
I'd have to go between Pagel (Minnetonka) and the burnsville Rink 1.
(just because of the globotron. haha)

The new Lakeville Rink is pretty good, and I like how big the locker rooms are. In Hudson their tiny!
