If I was going to make an early season prognostication, I would have to say that the top of the B1 heap may have a "Blueish" hue to it, and that Wayzata and Tonka are wearing those colors.

Yes i agree leshabs wayzata and tonka are in a league of their own in my opinion they played a very tight game earlier this year wayzata won 2-1 and it will be a very good game the next time they play

Richfield 4

It was a semi controled scrimage. The two teams played 3 12 min periods of 5 on 5 hockey. Then each got 7min of power play at the end. Only thing i didnt understand was that if someone got a penalty they just had to go to the bench and switch out with a different player i guess the 7 min in the end evened it out.

Last few days before league play begins...which key match-ups will have people talking this weekend?

If Minnetonka and Wayzata Blue are the teams to beat, who else rounds out the list...we're two pages into this and we have no rankings? I see high school polls for the 2010 season. (depending on how the bantam teams look)

List of usual suspects:
EP (both)
Edina (both)
WBL
Surprises?

does anyone know how chaska will be? 2 years ago they won state in peewee b1 level

With respect to Chaska, I believe they will be down this year relative to where they were a couple years ago. A number of those kids that were on the B1 team are now playing on the "A" squad. Chaska has lost a number of kids to the Fire and I believe Holy Family, so there Bantam program will be down across the board from where they were a couple years ago.

Should be another fun year. I am looking forward to more scores and updates from around the state. It would be fun to get more participation from the north and south instead of just the metro. Good luck to all teams.

As always, I will rooting for the hometown heros.

As far as Richfield results, I'm sure Eagleguy will be here to share at some point over the weekend.

richfield 3
armstrong 0
I think Richfield got the 1st and 2nd goal in the 1st period. Richfield seemed good coming out in the 1st period but died in the end of the 2nd. In the third i think they scored their 3rd goal. But overall good job Richfield. Nice work from the goalie.

burnsville 11
washburn 0
little bit embarrassing for Washburn.

EP 2
Stillwater 1
in the 3rd, EP was 2-0 and with 1 min remaining in 3rd Stillwater pulled their goalie and got a goal with about 0:25 on the clock. so it was 2-1 with 0:25 and stillwater kept up the pressure but never got the goal to tie it up. Good effort by both teams

Cottage Grove 3
STA 2
Cottage beat STA in overtime, scoring with about 20 seconds left in the OT. Pretty solid game.

Richfield vs EP at 4:00 on saturday, RINK 1
Armstrong vs Stillwater 4:15 on saturday, RINK 2
Burnsville vs Cottage Grove 5:30 on saturday, RINK 1
Washburn vs STA 5:45 on saturday, RINK 2

Good luck to all teams.

Sorry, EagleGuy has been busy with a variety of levels at the rink and not near a computer much. A quick login to mention:

EP Black 3,
Richfield 2

Burnsville 4,
Cottage Grove 1

Nice job MNHO, right on so far. Time to see if the Blaze come through for your predictions, or if my Eagles can make a go of it. Come on out, or stay tuned!!

About the EP Black and Richfield game

Richfield got the first 1 goal in the first and the other early in the second then at the end of the second they got sloppy and EP got one goal with like 3 min left then another the next shift. the third period was solid EP got one in the middle of it on a decently weak goal but one of the players wasnt back checking so not goalies fault. then richfield applied massive amounts of pressure and i am suprised that they didnt score to tie it up. but that how the game ended 3-2 EP

was a very good game just richfield didnt play as storng at the end of the second as they did the whole game.

another score from the richfield tournament was washburn 0 STA 8 i didnt really watch much of it cause it got really ugly really quick

and i didnt see the score of stillwater and Armstrong to see who plays STA in the consolation championship

Does anyone know the score on that?

After WBL Orange won state last year...both white bear teams are lookin' pretty sluggish thus' far. I'm not expecting another State Title under the WBL B Bantam teams for a while.

Burnsville 10, EP Black 1 Championship game.
STA 3, Stillwater (B2) 0 Consolation.
Richfield 4, Cottage Grove 3 OT 3rd place

Ep Black

I saw the game EP played against stillwater and EP played way better they passed the puck more they had solid power play and battled

then they played richfield and played even better it was hard fought the whole game

Then they come out flat in the championship and get owned by burnsville not taking anything away from burnsville. If EP was playing how they played Stillwater and EP it would have been a close game all the way though. if you think about it Burnsville beat Washburn earlier in the tourny 11-0 and that means that EP play just the same as Washburn i doubt that the are the same caliber team. but it was a fun tourny to watch

Keep posting more scores
