Is he really that good or will he be a 3rd liner and not see much ice time? Was making the move from bantams to varsity the right choice for him?
The way I see it playing 60-70 games of bantams and developing more would've better prepared him for varsity rather than watching from the bench most the year on varsity. Unless he will be a first or second liner?

He has some pretty good size, he will fit in there. He is playing first line with Gleason. Also keep in mind that his brother is on the team. But trust me he made a good decision that was well thought out

He is 5'8''-5'10'' and 150 to 160 lbs, and he is definately good enough to be on varsity. highschoolhockeyfann, do you know for sure he is playing first line, he may have just played their because Regan was hurt. Which line are you considering 1st line, Leer or Budish. I don't think he will play on the Budish line because they have been together since 1st year bantams. I am not sure you can put Max on a line with Gleason because of Gleason's offensive tendencies, if you want Gleason to continue to be an offensive force. Last year Gleason had Brehm to rely on if he got caught out of postion, I'm not sure you can do that with Max, but you may be able to do that with Jack Jorgenson. In my opinion, he will play third line. That is not bad, becuase 3rd line has a couple of playmakes and will probably skate a regular shift with no powerplay or penalty kill. They will probably play at the end of the games because Edina will be winning by more than 2 goals at the end of the 3rd of most of the year.
This also is probably Edina's best chance to win state in Max's high school career and Max would probably love to be a state champion with his brother.

Max could be what Gleason needs, he is very good defensively and can hold his own on varsity, however he won't be able to do many of the things that Joey Brehm did for Gleason last year, after all Brehm is waking on at Denver this year and is expected to play next year, I think he is redshirtting this year.

Anyway, Is Jorgenson playing with Jarrett on 3rd line?

yea i see what your saying and i agree with brehm. he had acouple things that max dose not have now but will get in the future and im sure of that.
yes i believe jorgenson and jarrett are playing together.

Jorgenson is good defensively but hurts gleason offensively, he's exactly what a 3rd liner is all about, hard working, great defensively, dumps the puck in, physical but he's DEFIANTLY not 1st line..him and jarrett will mesh well, jarrett is smaller and more skilled, hopefully the 3rd line will do well enough defensively, they aren't physical at all (honestly they don't hit) but they do have a lot of skill and could score a good amount this year

After waching the game last night (Edina/Rochester Century) I would say cancel the rest of the season and give them the State Championship Trophy now!

I didnt get to watch the game, what was the final score, and the line combinations for Edina?

The score was 8-2, shots were 50-17 Edina.
Don't know the line combinations, didn't seem to matter what line was out there all ther lines were very impressive.
One kid had five goals and i never heard off him until last night.

The game you watched Regan was hurt for. Jake Heck was playing up. The pairings are
Max Everson and Gleason
Baker and Regan
Jorgenson and Jarrett

That game was amazing for the hornets. they r something to watch. Everson with 5 goals. kid dominated the game and ended up with 7 points i believe. Them and Roseau would be a great game to watch.

Edina was impressive and they are loaded top to bottom, but Century is not anywhere near the team they were last year. Lost alot of kids to graduation. Saw them scrimmage a couple times up in Rapids and they
were not very competitive. Should be much improved by Feb.

You have never heard of Marshall Everson? Well, that probably won't be the last time you hear about him this year.

How good is Joe Gleason? The answer is very good. I watched this kid last night and he as good as any defenseman I've seen in some time. Nice going DON

He is definitely very talented offensively but I don't recall ever seeing the young man actually play defense - seemed to me every time he touched the puck he was heading up the ice full steam ahead. I don't question his offensive talents, just haven't actually seen his "defensive" side yet (and that includes when he played in the Elite League). Aaron Ness has similar offensive talents but he also seems to play defense.

Watch Gleason very closely. Almost everytime he rushes the puck he ends up in the offensive zone, which is good, but he almost always ends up on the outside. As a defenseman that's exactly where I would want him, you do much less damage out there. He rarely drives to the net.

Take it from someone who knows all about giving the trophy up before the final game. Don't get too excited until they play someone that can skate with them. There are only about 5 - 6 teams in the state that can skate with Edina. If they were in the Gold division of the Schwan's Cup, where they should be, then they might get that opportunity.
I am not saying that MG, RC and Wayzata aree not good teams, but for someone to play the whole game with Edina you are going to need to be a fast skating team. Strong upfront and have some good goaltending.
I said last year the Edina was going to be tough to beat and I still say that. Until they actuall make it to the tournament and then win, no need to hand them the trophy.

My opinion.

Everson is a goal scorer that just what he does, you need guys like that but being a sioux fan i watched gleason during that game and people always question his defense saying all he does is rush. Well when i watched the game it seemed like he didnt have to play defense cause he always had the puck in the other end....seems like good d to me

To be brutally honest, I was not as impressed as I thought I would be with the Hornets. Watching their game against RC didn't do much for me. Now, I know they won 8-2 and Everson got 5 goals but they just looked like an above-average (Edina) team playing a below-average (Rochester Century) team. I hope they prove me wrong and show me that they are a great team, but as of now I definitely do not see them winning a state title this year. In fact, they might have a tough time getting out of their section.

One could argue that a section with Edina, AHA, B'ville, Jefferson, and Chaska is almost as strong of a field as the state tournament.

(Several rankings have the first three in the Top Five.)

Moorhead, Duluth East, and Centennial usually have very tough non-conference schedules. And they don't "duck" the gold division either.
