WOW !
Albert Lea scrimmages Austin Tuesday at 4 PM in AL.
Albert Lea has 15 girls on their team...not 6th-7th-8th lines.
Must be nice !

In the Duluth Jamboree, the teams that stood out were Benilde-St. Margaret's, Hill Murray, Breck and host Duluth. The scores don't mean that much because the teams did not have to play short-handed after getting a penalty, plus many of the teams were still looking closely at some bubble players that may not stay on their varsity rosters. Two 25 minute, running time halves, with no resurfacing in between, made for some slow ice towards the end. BSM outscored their three opponents, H-M, Park of CG and Duluth by 3-1, 4-0 and 5-3 respectively.

BSM did look very good up north.
Hill Murray played 4 in Duluth - hard to always know scores. Lost to Benilde 4-2, beat Hastings 5-1, Duluth 5-0 and not sure of Eagan it was 0-0 with 10 minutes left. Top line of Jess Herrin, Melissa Doyle and 8th grader Hanah Brandt looked good. Very good goaltending. Also very disciplined play with very few penalties.
Irondale also showed strong scoring.

Eastview played four scrimmages in Duluth, tying Breck and Irondale and outscoring Park and Cooper. Both Irondale and Breck have some nice players.

Today at 4:30 pm Edina hosts BSM for a scrimmage at Braemar - should be a fast-paced affair.

Overall the play was very even - both teams looked solid. The final I believe was 1-1, but they had it set up where if your team got a penalty the other team had a penalty shot from the blue line with the other players chasing from the red line. Out of roughly 10 "penalty shot" chances total only one goal was scored, by BSM. Edina's goal was scored in regular play by No. 67, on a well placed high shot to the far post. Although BSM outshot Edina by roughly a 3-2 margin, both teams had numerous close-in chances to score but could not put it away. Edina's No. 1 goalie in particular was excellent, but both BSM's goalies played very well also.
Very entertaining for the fans that were there. It was a fast-paced and well-played scrimmage and it showed that both teams deserve to be ranked near the top in AA.

That was a controlled scrimmage on Nov 3. They didn't keep score, but the play was very even.

I'm working on the possibilities of that. Depends entirely on how much I can get done today.

I'll leave you alone then.....
Keep an eye on my Buffalo team...sadly they are bringing 16 skaters for varsity and jv....they only have 18 and 3 are injured (one is playing).
If they play 9 on varsity they should be competitive...same kids from last year...watch #17...quite the player (not my kid either!)
I expect an update!

Whether I go or not I will have some sort of update. If is is any consolation, Moorhead only has 16 girls in total. That's all that tried out. They will likely have no JV team.

That's surprising about Moorhead, given the size of the community and the fact that they have such a strong boys' program.

They played 2 - 60 minutes scrimmages, with a resurfacing inbetween, and the last 60 minutes spent working on power plays. Alex won 8 - 4, with one goal on Alex being scored from a deflection off of one their player's skate. Great hockey.

IMO, it's silly that people would post the score of a scrimmage or even keep track of the score, when it means less than nothing. I'll hold back on posting what I think the reasons are behind this.....

Bensonmum, because he asked. Some people just like knowing how the teams are looking this year. As always, good luck to all teams for a fun season.
