He may be considered as he's attempting to complete he junior and senior credits by this coming spring. It's up to the Minnesota Minutemen who sponsor the award and the college coaches and pro scouts who vote on the award. They are aware of Ness's situation and are currently evaluating his eligibility.
Any junior that is as good as Ness, playing hockey everyday (except Sunday), and still can manage to complete two grades in one year...well lets just say that they get my vote for Mr. Hockey.

Ness is a class act. Classroom, at the rink, in the streets. He acts like a gentleman amongst adults. He understands he is just one of many talented hockey players in the history of Roseau. He is just a great kid.

Mr. Hockey would be fitting for him, but I assure you, his focus is on team accomplishments, not on individual awards.

John Pohl ('98) from Red Wing I think is the only single A player to win it. Many on the board will say Oshie should have been the second in 2005 though.
