Hampton is the top keeper in the area. From him, the talent drops off with Miers maybe climbing out of the pit with some experience.

The day that he gets a full ride to a D-1 college on a hockey scholarship is the day that River Lakes wins the state tournament.
It could happen
Ya, Okay, Bradhands19 wrote:One of the best unknown goalies in the st cloud area is Brad Atkinison. He plays for River Lake Stars. I heard st cloud state is looking at him, i heard maybe a full ride?
Exchange your fairly with a very and you're right on.Donkey9 wrote:Based on the Cathedral-Apollo game.... I would have to say that Hampton is the top goalie in the area. He saw 51 shots in the game and only gave up 3 goals. Fairly impressive

So we talking 20 - 30 years when some, if any, talent comes to the team?Goldy Gopher wrote:hands19 wrote:One of the best unknown goalies in the st cloud area is Brad Atkinison. He plays for River Lake Stars. I heard st cloud state is looking at him, i heard maybe a full ride?

He faced a ton of shots in the Granite City Classic and came up with some pretty nice saves. Where he struggles is with his rebound control. More often than not, after he made a save the puck would bounce right out in front of him just asking to be put in the net. Against a good team or on a night when you aren't getting the lucky bounces, those could be deadly.Hockey313 wrote:Has anyone seen the sophmore goalie from Sartell play? I think his name is Brent Orndorf. He has faced alot of shots, and has come up big.
Well...after getting starts against some dang good teams Maiers has looked great. Time will tell if he keeps his work ethic and keeps improving but he's looked real solid so far.Ben Dover wrote:Not quite..BladeButter44 wrote:Nick Maires (spelling)? Solid young goaltender
I don't think that's true at all...USHLTender wrote:Maiers may have talent, but I think his Ego outweighs his talent. That is the problem with the Cathedral program, half of that team regards themselves as the best program in the state.... kinda funny if you think about it
Maiers didn't get the start against Tech. Nice try, though.Hockey313 wrote:Maiers is one of the most overated goalies. Looked at what happend to cathedral in the classic vs Tech.

I'd say Hampton is the best, Al has potential to be better.fiveforfighting wrote:STC18 wrote:Don't know much about SR and Sartell but I'd have to go with Hampton from Apollo as the best, while Reynolds (Tech) is a step ahead of Hoefflin/Maiers (Cathedral).
Reynolds? I believe he is a back up to Al Patten. Hampton is the best goalie, maiers and patten are pretty close too
Kevin McGuire will be a very capable replacement for Hampton when he graduates. Kevin stepped in for a couple games this season when Hampton was hurt and did a very good job.Stealth wrote:Sounds like its half way thru the year and its out with the old and in with the new hyped kids already.
Day will come when they are seniors and the lower class kids will be hyped up too.
Who is in the pipe line for Apollo to replace the senior? Both are juniors now with one being JV?

Of course you're going to disagree, you're the one who wrote it.USHLTender wrote:DisagreedGeorge Blanda wrote:I don't think that's true at all...USHLTender wrote:Maiers may have talent, but I think his Ego outweighs his talent.
