Lots of up and down action. Underwood was awesome for Grand Rapids. Lone goal was off of a turnover in front. Corey Kosak drilled the crossbar late in the period.
3-2 Spuds, end of second. Looks like a good game. The Grand Rapids site is amazing!

Real fun period here at the IRA Civic Center. Sam Sparen and Tony Palkki have scored just beautiful goals for GR. Moorhead's 3rd goal was a beatiful 2-1 play.

Good game....if you're a potato head. No seriously, Moorhead outplayed GR when it mattered. AJ Underwood was tremendous again, but once again, the GR defense faltered. For the most part, the GR forwards created quality chances, and kept Rapids in the game, but again, the defense failed miserably, getting beat up the ice time and again. Back to the drawing board as the Indians head south to take on everyone's favorite

Edina. Hopefully they can improve on their mistakes and right the ship. Lots of time left, and I for one have every confidence things will be ok.

I know Edina wants some revenge in this game. Good time for it. Rapids is still trying to find themselves...thoughts...?

I came home sicker than a dog about noon Friday. Ended up sleeping right through till now. Didn't get a chance to follow the game. Will definitely do so in Edina.
It's early in the year, but right now it looks like Edina-Roseau- and then everyone else.

Great game!!! Rapids didn't come out flying like they normaly do. Poor D, AJ played very good(gives up way 2 many rebounds) all spud goals were because of GR defence breaking down, but the spuds played a solid game!

i don't get it...Gr3343 why are you so down on the D...Rapids played well...they pressed and made some mistakes...in the end the fault will fall on the shoulders of of the D...that is why it is hard to find someone to play D...and in the end goalie...your kid must be a D on the JV...do you think through this site your hidden agenda will get your kid a shot in the big show...where were you last year when the rapids lost to Virginia and Moorehead...rapids played fine...toughest they have played Moorehead in 5 years...I have watched the JV games...not one of those players who play d are ready for the next level...Kosak and Rendle are solid...If bishop keeps it simple he is fine...the next guy will be young...scoring need t happen to win...if its not generated form the F's then the D need to take chances...Most people know who GR3343 is...so be positive or it may impact how people perceive you or your kid...

The Rapids D as a whole played awful yesterday. They fumbled the puck around and turned it over in their own end yesterday. That was not a great game by Rapids. They played very poorly. They can play 10x better than that. You could ask the D and the team those questions and I promise they agree with me.

Know your facts when coming on here. Rapids did not lose to Virginia last year. Also, it is Moorhead, not Moorehead.

your not the only person who goes to the game...are we having this conversation if Kosak scores rather than hits the post...what about the back door pass which hits bad ice...sports are of inches...this time of year its about inches not miles...the fact is they were in the game until about 4:00 left...moorehead is ranks high...rapids is not...eat benefits from rapids wearing the team down the night before...they always do...road trips are tough...support your team rather than criticize...the closer you are to the net, the tougher it is...I like the rapids team...

Kosak hitting the post has nothing to do with the way the team plays defensively. Also, I have talked to a lot of people about last nights game and everyone but you feels pretty much the same way about the game.

Agreed, even the big cheese had the same thing to say about GR's poor defenseive play, it can only get better.

No hidden agendas here, just opinions. Most who are honest and actually know a bit about hockey have had the same thoughts on the D core of GR. They haven't played up to par, and nowhere has there been any call from me to move anyone up. That's a coach's decision. I have always said that the problems are fixable, and that it's up to the players involved to get with the program. Don't join the "bored" just to try and get a rise out of someone. Not going to take the bait. In my humble opinion, the GR forwards have responded as we all hoped they would, and the D haven't. That's all that's been stated. Remember, this is a forum where opinions are stated. That said, also remember that I've said the GR D has problems that are fixable, and the expectations for them to do so remain high.

When you are new on here, you need to give us a reason to think you are credible. You have not done that. Your writing style makes your posts hard to follow and you spell many words incorrectly and it makes it difficult to tell what you mean at times. When you are a diehard fan of a team, you critisize them. Grand Rapids always produces good hockey, but they can also almost always play better. You obviously have very little clue what you are talking about. Regroup and try again.
