Owatonna, Centennial and Minnehaha bite the dust
The seven remaining teams, and their next opponents, are:
Edina (Wed vs. Grand Rapids)
Hopkins (Thursday vs. Mound)
Minnetonka (Thursday vs. Eastview)
Roseau (Friday vs. Grand Forks Central)
Mankato West (Thursday vs. Northfield)
International Falls (Friday vs. Ft. Frances)
Park Rapids (Thursday vs. Bagley)
best team

No team gos unbeaten this year. I believe Roseau is the best team in the state of MN. I believe Edina would have a chance to beat them in there own barn. Not in Roseaus barn. There are also many quality teams, to many to mention that can hand either of these teams a loss. The schedules are just to tough and all teams will have a off night. I hope Edina and Roseau get to square off at State. But both have a tough road there as its never easy. Just my opinion.

I agree that no team will go undefeated this year. In high school hockey i truly believe that anything can happen and will happen. Great upsets are what make watching it so fun. Almost any team can beat any other team depending on how the game goes

Why is tying looked down on by people?
unbeaten teams

That may be...but the title of the thread is about the last unbeaten, untied team.
I really don't see any team finishing the regular season unbeaten or untied no one is that head and shoulders above the rest of the competition.

They say that a tie is like kissing your sister. I guess in certain parts of the country, that's not considered a bad thing......
I guess the goal is a "perfect record" and a tie is a blemish on that record. To be unbeaten is close to perfect, and I'm not trying to say it isn't good.
But it ain't perfect.
And the title is not who's going to go unbeaten this year, it's who's going to be the last unbeaten, untied team.
Looking at their schedules, my money's on West.
That is, if I had any money.....Christmas is expensive with three kids.

Edina
Mankato East
Hopkins
Roseau
Park Rapids
Some of these teams schedules lead me to belive that they cant be unbeaten/ untied. Except for maybe Mankato West, They play no one except Century late, which is hardly anyone.

Edina goes down, Hopkins wins.
That leaves
AA: Hopkins 9-0, Roseau 7-0
A: Mankato West 7-0, Park Rapids 9-0
The top 3 teams in the Classic Lake are now a combined 26-2.

Obviously Roseau... If they lose to any team they play during the regular season it would be a suprise. The only decent teams they play are Moorhead and Blaine...

Moorhead and Roseau happen to have a big rivalry a brewin. I would expect no team to be unbeaten this regular season. Even if Moorhead doesnt get it done, Blaine may suprise them...
PR can be beaten and almost were upset by a team who doesnt even have a win this year so far in Bagley.
Mankato West, well they dont have too many tough teams to face but Century may beat them. If not, they may beat themselves along the way.
Hopkins will get their first loss in the championship against Woodbury. If not, they have some tough teams to face.

I don't consider a 5-1 game almost an upset. Also they played without their stud Lehrke in this game.

Bagley had their top 2 defensemen out and their leading goal scorers out for the first period as well. They were only up 2-1 after 2 periods and had many opportunities to tie it up in the second but the youth in them couldn't find a way to pull it out. As for Lehrke not playing, you can accredit their win against EGF for the same reasons...
Lehrke would not have made that big of a difference. Is he a playmaker who puts up points, yes. Would he have beaten up on Bagley, NO! he might have added a point or 2 but Bagley would still have been in the game.
I can see you were not at the game. I understand you wouldn't know how the game went but Bagley was not down or out of the game until 4 minutes left in the third when they ran out of gas.
