And what about cousin Kip Raboin.

And non-related to Joey but brothers, Larry and Gary Beck and of course, in goal, another non-relative, Ron Beck.

And if we have relatives, Gary's father Dunn Sampson was one of the great all-time hockey coaches at any level.

Greenway:

Forwards: Mike Antonovich, Ken Gernander, Gino Guyer,
Mick Metzer, Derek Vekich, Tom Peluso, Mike Tok,

Defensemen: Ken Lawson, Kris Miller, Jim Sobtzak, Jim Barle

Goalies: Johnny Lothrop, Bill Joy, Terry Casey, Adam Houser

My one favorite player is tough to pick. Mike Antonovich was the most
creative and clever player; but, Mick Metzer was a bulldog in the
corners. I have yet to see anyone who can go into the corner and dig
out the puck like he could.

Some of those guys form the late 60's are my first memories of hockey.
Listening to the AM radio halfway between Trout Lake and Warba, I didn't know I was pulling for our biggest rivals. Lotta great players on your list.

As a long term fan of high school hockey from Rochester and Duluth I have to add the following to the list:

1977 Rochester JM Champions
Scott Lecy
Todd Lecy
Paul Butters
Jim Schied
Jeff Nelson

Duluth East
Any list such as this must include Dave Spehar

SEMinnHockeyNut wrote:This is a tough one for me since I have not watched them for most of their history, but have been a big fan for about 15 years now.

Rochester Mayo -

Goalies:
Steve DeBus - Gophers (minor pros)
Jeff Jakaitis - Lk. Sup St. (ECHL now)
David Nash - Augsburg

Defense:
Jim and John Johansson - Wisc (before my time) (some NHL?)
Andrew Canzanello -CC (AHL for awhile)
Nick Canzanello - Minnesota St.
Mike Colgan - CC
Todd Huyber - Providence (before my time)
Nick Teachin
Nate Markus
Andrew Gastineau - Air Force/then St. Olaf's

Forwards:
Eric Strobel - Gophers/1980 Olympic team (some NHL until injuries ended his career)
Matt Leimbek - Gophers
Jason Notterman - ND
Scott Thauwald - CC
Jeff Whitney - UW River Falls (when they were D-II, before my time)
Doug Weick - CC (before my time) (with NYI minors team)
Andy Roberts - St. Mary's
Tony Grosso - D-III, Mustangs - USHL
Jeff Schmidt - SCSU

There are others that escape me now....Mayo has had 20+ D-I players in its history.

Maybe Sioux Fan or Goldy313 can help me on this one.

JM - Obvious ones are Zmolek and Podein (both NHL), Scott Lecy, Todd Lecy, Lampman, Teal....others? I know they are they, but they escape me now

Century - Alex Kangas (Gophers), Grimstad, Knoepke, Wicox - only 10 years of choices

Lourdes - The Stuart brothers - Mark, Mike, Colin (all some NHL), Jake Taylor, Brunkhorst - CC, B. Banheman - NAHL now....others?
haha with the mayo ones we r gonna have to add on in the years with Charlie and Tom!!!

this is a tough list, but top five for me would have to be...

Corey Millen
Derek Plante
Jamie Langenbrunner
Sergei Petrov
Aaron Novak

Both Petrov and Novak are on the list solely b/c they played on the same line as Langenbrunner, but, MAN, was that a fun team to watch

i don't think he has heard of them since 5 of the players on the list have played for b-ville this year or last year...by the way what is your obsession with zach may?? He is a decent hockey player, but he is always the biggest prick on the ice...no matter who b-ville is playing
