New Prague beat Austin 14-1. NP backup goalie was in, and almost everyone on the team got a goal.

That's what it looked like....Otherwise it didn't look like they had any best players....they just were all sub decent....no offense to anyone.

I think its goan be a fun tourny and i cant wait to see the semi between new prague and new ulm. I think it'll be a good one

I agree with Eagle, NP and NU will be a great match up. Faribault is the clear favorite to win, but you never know. I think they might have lost to Shattuck #2 the other night? Any info on that one?

First Round
Faribault over Waseca (Waseca should beat Austin in playin game)
Owatonna vs Albert Lea (pickum game, doesn't really matter though since neither team is going to Regions anyway)
New Ulm over St Peter
New Prague over Mankato
Second Round
Faribault over Owatonna/Albert Lea winner
New Ulm over New Prague (pickum game. should be a great game)
Third Round
Faribault over New Ulm/New Prague winner
*Faribault will qualify for Regions along with the second game winner between New Ulm and New Prague. The Owatonna/Albert Lea loser will win the Consolation Championship.

I remember when New Prague was down by a goal or two against Faribault in Districts going in to the third period and our coach gave them a pump up speech and NP came out like a Kansas Tornado and scored 2 and won the game....I also remember when Mankato beat New Prague in the Championship of a tournament (I think Districts.) and they go to Regions with District Champions!!! written all over their car, and then they play NP and lose....Good times.....Good times.

Thought I would throw this in to ponder. Albert Lea just got back from the Paynesville tourney. AL beats Cloquet, Washburn then Como for the trophy. Not a strong field, but still fun to win a championship. Here is my point, District 1 will send 3 teams to regions while District 4 will only send 2. Checking scores I see that Washburn and Como have had very good games, winning some against the top teams in their districts. Trust me on this, D4 top 3 teams are heads and tails above these teams while the 4 and 5 seeds would win most if not always against these teams. Is this some disrespect for D4 or is there a better reason?

How many teams each region sends goes on a rotation basis, it just happens this year D1 gets 3, another year it will be D4.

The home dist gets 2 teams the other two dist get 3 teams. Dist 4 has hosted the last two.

new ulm beat faribault 5-4 in a great game that came down to the end. Faribualt battle back from 4-1 but just couldnt score at the end

Congrats to NU on the 1 seed to regions. Faribault gets the 2 seed with a 4-1 win over NP. New Ulm is a fun team to watch if you like disciplined kids working their butts off. They have shown a great deal of consistency all year and have improved steadily to the end. Both teams will represent D4 well in Albert Lea. D6 will obviously send 3 strong teams that will be fun to watch, both NU and Faribault should compete well. Good Luck to them. Anyone hear how the cons. finals went? I know Waseca beat Owatonna to get to Sun., not sure about the other side.
