9 shutouts this season...

In the last 9 games, has given up 5 goals total and gotten 5 shutouts with a save percentage of .974!!!!

His goals against average this season is .90 --- less than 1 goal a game, does this mean that Mike Lee's AVERAGE game is a shut out? Think about that!
As a Gopher puck fan, I wish Lucia would have signed this young man up when he locked up Ness! :(
I know Ness is very good, but 32 straight since Lee has taken over between the pipes, tells me its been Lee's presence that has key to Ram success over the past two seasons...
Lee & Kangas sounds like a good law firm, but a better goalie tandem! Props to the Huskies for getting his talents, he will be a very good college goalie and believe he will find success beyond... :)

Lets not forget other tenders that everyone on this board, also felt the same way about, not so long ago. Now pays back up for the Marron and gold. Remeber when he was a freshman..... He was all those names that were mentioned in the previous post.

HOWEVER!!!! That was a different deal. Lets take a look at where this kid comes from. Roseau. Any kid from that town can hold their head high. Even if they didn't make it big. Where was Frazee from? I don't don't even know. Like where did he play Youth.

Point is, this kid is he real deal because he wants to be the real deal. He works hard in the off season with hockey, probably has a job too and also plays other sports I bet. He will succeed because he wants it more than anyone else. Look how aggressive of a goalie he is. He dies to compete. Have guys go hard to the net, crash, go after rebounds. It don't matter he stops all. Keep it up Michael! Can't wait to see you at the State Tourney, leading your Rams to another title.

Good Luck

Frazee is from Burnsville and played a bit for AHA.

There's a couple things I really like about this kid: he's got great size to him which is something every scout looks for. A couple other things, he's got a great butterfly style and he is VERY quick on his feet for a tender. I've only seen him play on TV this season, saw him in person at the Xcel last year. This is a kid that I see having success in the WCHA. Sort of like Kangas for the Gophers, only better. He could be one of the few Minnesotan goaltenders to have a successful career, possibly at the NHL level.

High School hockey directly to the NHL. He has presence, poise and fantastic ability. If he plays at SCSU, they automatically jump to the front of the line in the WCHA, and quite possibly the nation. That one, I believe is the for sure real deal. Not down on #10 from the same team, but goaltending talents like this are rare. He's definitely up there with great stars and former prospects like Barasso, Beezer, Richter, Snow, Dunham & DiPietro. Good luck to this kid. No offense, but I hope you have the 12 hour flu when GR comes up  . No seriously, best of luck to Lee.
GR3343...Lee is a great goalie (no doubt)...but you obviously don't get out much...Brady Hjelle # Aaron Crandall represented MN at the National Select 16 & 17 Festivals the past 2 years...not Mike Lee. And Joe Howe is tearing up the USHL...in reality...all 4 of them are great! :D

I get out plenty, I've seen both Hjelle & Crandall play, and while both are very good, and represented MN at the National Festivals, I still think Lee is better. Lee seems to me to have the better physical tools, and has shown tremendous poise in the nets since I've started watching him. The first game I saw him play, he came into the IRA and shut down a very good GR squad, basically stealing the game. He continued on this road of success and hasn't let down one inch. People can complain all they want about schedules, I know I have to some extent, but goaltending is a little diffferent. I would rank him as the best in Minn. right now. SCSU got a steal when they got a comittment from him.

The Huskies could use this guy in the net ASAP their current goaltenders have been their weakness this season. Yes Lee has good defensemen in front of him but he still is an excellent goaltender

I think Lee's most important quality is his poise, and his size reminds me of a brick wall with one cube missing for the shooter to try to get the puck through.

Seeing that he is a junior, that means he as only "verbally" committed to the Huskies, correct? or can juniors officially sign with a school?

The goaltending AND defense has been their weakness this season.

Yes, he only verbally committed. FYI, Don Lucia is a proponent (if not a practitioner) of eliminating such commitments.

I've seen Lee play and ive been pretty impressed although im not convinced quite yet. he has already made him self an excellent high school goalie, but when you get to the junior/college/profesional levels goaltending is all about that thing that sits on top of your sholders. i know that it's pretty much a mortal sin the leave roseau early but i hope Lee chooses to do so. I just don't see how he's going to get much better by staying in High school. Getting 15 shots a game for 30 games in high school just doesnt compare to 30 shots a game for 75 games in juniors. Although leaving early isn't for everyone. I don't know him so i don't know if he's ready to make that move.

He gets 2 hrs of practice a day with some of the top players in the state and then has the option to go to the legendary north rink and get tons of shots, I believe he is doing just fine in that catagory, as far as leaving early, I think that is the biggest mistake that these kids make, staying and letting your body mature is probly an advantage and going into the next level older and more mature is the best thing you can do. I believe leaving early only increases your chances of getting hurt, while playing at a level that maybe an undeveloped body can not handle. Just think if Ness goes into the next level with a more mature body, wouldn't that increase his net worth to say an nhl team. Its a mistake to leave early in my eyes, I think you cost your self some ching, but this is just my opinion.

Lee plays a couple days a week against former college and professional players and they are all convinced he is the real deal.
BTW. It is worse than a mortal sin to leave Roseau early.

Is there some truth to this? If there is, then major props to the kid. I think we will all be able to make a better judgment call with regards to Lee after the State Tourney is all said and done. He does look pretty good on paper and made some sick saves in the game against Blaine.

I heard from a GDI rep that Roseau as an entire hockey association is having the GDI guys work with all of their goalies up there, weekly. GDI is Ian Clarks (Canucks goalie coach) program. They are an excellent resource for Lee and the other Roseau goalies to have available, perhaps more schools should invest in their goalie training, as Roseau has?

This is a list of their pro clients, very impressive in my opinion.

its great to be able to practice for two hours a day with some of the best players in the state, and to spend more time after that a couple times a week to skate with former junior/college/pro players. but unless they're packin the memorial for that ice time it's probably not gonna help him get used to 15,000 sioux/badger fans yelling sieve. if he is skating that much i would say he could be hurt just as easily than if he was playing juniors. i'm not doubt Lee's abilities, i just think juniors would prepare him for whats to come.
