Both excellent choices. Add Super Mario 3.

Atari 2600: Best joystick game is DigDug. Best paddle game is Super Breakout. We used to have epic competitions in the mid 80's after drinking too much coffee. Stats were kept. All of that stuff. After buying a 2600 on ebay several years ago, I tried playing the game again and had no idea how ones reflexes could deteriorate after 15 years. Meh....gaming is a young kids' world. All we dinosaurs have left are memories of racking up those ungodly scores a generation ago.

Yea, video games are not about scores anymore. I don't think there are any modern day games when they actually keep a score, unless it's a sport. That was back in the day when an arcade was actually popular and would survive. Nobody likes an arcade game anymore.

Great game. We resurrected this game around 01, 02, and had big tournaments. We thought about going public with it, having an entrance fee and having like a 32 or 64 man tournament with prizes. I wonder if we could have got enough kids to enter. Granted it was in college town... I always rolled with one skinny, one fat, and two mediums.

Good call... The fact that you could unlock Met Stadium is worth every penny spent on it.
I also had that as a top game. EA should be put in charge of all sports games, other companies just don't compare. I would love an EA made MLB baseball game for 360.
MVP baseball video games were the very best, I have all of them for x-box

I think I must be one of the few PS3 players on the bored, but is anybody looking to get MLB '08 when it comes out tomorrow? I've heard nothing but good things about it, and it's supposedly one of the deepest sports games ever made.

I downloaded the demo and played it a couple of times, and I will say that graphically on the HD? Whoo! She looks very, very nice! It's almost enough to make me not even worry about the gameplay, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

Frogger- graphics-impaired Atari version, or better yet the arcade version back when.

Sega's NHL game circa 1991. It was one of the first games I remember where the players in the game resembled their skills in real life.

The Canuck Line of Bure, Linden, and Ronning was tough. Ray Bourque, Bernie Nichols, Gretz, Joe Sakic, Mario, and Hull were all to be reckoned with.

Centipede and Dig Dug on the Atari 5200.

Mike Tyson's Punchout

And last but not least, from the Atari 2600, Combat.

This game almost made me buy a PS3. Well that and how much I despise MLB 2k8...

NHL '93 Sega:

"They took the fighting out? Why did they do that?"

"Its ok, you can make their heads bleed!"

"Yeah, Gretzky's a b!tch! Watch me make his head bleed"

What movie?

Others:

Blades of Steel
Hat Trick Hockey
Ninetendo Hockey - combo of the little guys, medium, and of course the enforcers.

Super Tecmo Bowl - Bo Jackson and Barry Sanders were unstoppable.

Jack Nicklaus golf for Sega...had his favorite 18 holes at courses all over the world...if you played it enough, simple math allowed 40-50 bending putts to be made with ease (just like my real golf game!)

Wii bowling is addictive if nothing else.
