It will be a good game but as much as Id like to come the Coliseum is a tough drive for me so, oh well. Im hoping EP/BSM gives me a good game and Im hoping EV can pull it out.

Woodbury will win by 2. Great goaltending and solid depth at forward will win this one for them, 4-2.

I just think the level of play in the net becomes even more important during sections, and that level of play has been inconsistent all year for EV
.

Komada77,
You could say this about every goalie in the state of MN except Lee. The way Eastview plays doesn't lend itself to consistency because of limited but usually high quality shots because of their aggressive D. Many odd man rushes as well as open shots in front. The two goalies usually have better games against the better teams so we shall see.

That is a trend I have also noticed, kind of weird actually.

The one's...Burnsville is clearly stronger than Woodbury, Eden Prarie would crush Roseville, WBL is down this year. Eastview finished in 5th place in the lake and are rated in the top 12 in the State. What are you guys talking up Woodbury on??? This will be a game Eastview should control. They really want to play Rosemount again. If they don't think Rosemount they will win 5-3. Now if Cretin's goalie stands on his head and they beat Rosemount we won't have to worry about it. Believe me, the Irish are pulling for Woodbury.

woodbury has played solid the last 7 games. they finished there season with beating cretin roseville whitebear and those arent exactly easy teams. i dont know why anyone would down woodbury they have lost to the state champions the past two years and have proven to be a team to be reconked with. i got woodbury pulling of the win 4 2

i couldnt agree with you more. Eastview did not play the best last night, but they finished the game strong and any one that knows true hockey could back me up on that. Eastview has a GREAT shot of winning tomorrow nights game as long as they can stay out of the box.

That's hte problem-there are 2 goalies! Playing goalie-by-committee is like playing quarterback or point guard or shortstop by committee-it just doesn't work very well.

They have not been able to do that all year. If they pick up as many stupid penalties as they did against AV it could be trouble for EV. The thing with the AV game though is that both teams would take the penalties together for most of the night. It should be a great game tonight though, both of the section semi's.

Wow, what an amazing game! Hats off to both teams, that was incredible. Here's the 3 things I took away from this game:

1. David Eddy is the man! He impressed me more tonight than J.T. Brown did.

2. So many times this year I've heard that Eastview has a great team but won't make it to state because of their goalie. I thought O'Shea played very well tonight. He let in 4 goals, but I don't think any of them were his fault. He made some great saves too.

3. I think Woodbury beats Rosemount on Thursday. Woodbury keeps the puck moving, plays well in their own zone and they put the puck on the net. Rosemount just tries to beat the defense with their one on one moves.

Congratulations to Woodbury. Don't hang your heads, Eastview, you have NOTHING to be ashamed about

Great game, O shea played very well. Fienhage... questionable game, im sorry. First line for EV was much better and faster than Woods, but wood had more depth. good game to both teams

Stev,
Dont mean to be mean here ... but isn't eddy on the first line for woodbury? Eddy had 3 points (goal and 2 assists) and the scoring for Eastview was Schweigert for 2 and trombley for 1. I dont know much about woodbury but was very impressed. Alot of the time Woodbury had there 2nd line against Eastviews #1 and they shut them down.

Oshea made some unbelievable saves tonight ... there were olot of times that Eastviews Def hung him out and he really came up big. I'm not a big Oshea fan, but giving credit where credit is due and he was big tonight.

Championships are won with great defense, meaning all 6 guys on the ice chipping in as a team. Thats how I believe this game was won and lost.

AWESOME NIGHT OF HOCKEY TONIGHT AT THE COLLISEUM!

If they play like that Woodbury wins. If they pick it up it should be a good one but I am still going to go with Woodbury by 1 maybe 2 if they EN one. But it should be a great game I would think.

They ended up giving Larson one of the goals I believe.... they announced it at the end of the game.

Anyone know how they decide who got credit for this goal because is was very clearly put in the net by Tony Pittman of Woodbury?

But anyways...excellent game. Eddy is very fun to watch-the kid just continues to impress me as does the entire Woodbury squad. As to EV's first line being better than Woodbury's first, it's really hard to say if that's true or not because Woodbury does not have a set first line. Starting th game was Eddy, Forstner, and Ogren but Eddy was also out there with Pittman/Kopp a lot as well as Erickson/Goff quite a bit. All I know is David Eddy was without a doubt the best player at the Coliseum tonight.

Wow what a game!

Eastview is a quality team no question but they just didn't score any hard working goals. They were all fluky. They worked hard for them though no question and that is how you win playoff games by just finding ways to get goals.

Woodbury really turned it on in the 2nd and even though Eastview took the lead in the 2nd with two minutes or so left they didn't do anything to earn that goal. It was a two on one played to perfection by the Defensemen for the Royals and the puck hits off of a Royals players skate and goes in because Wigen had slid over for the back door pass.

I think Eastview had to have been a little scared going into the locker room even with the two one lead and they had every right to be. Woodbury was just dominating.

Then in the third it was more of the same. Once the Royals took the lead you knew they would end up winning the game. Eastview tied it up on another crazy goal though. The shot was going 5 feet wide and two guys were tipping in front of the net and somehow tipped it in. It was another crazy goal.

Eastview is definitely a speedy team but that just didn't work tonight. You have to have a physical aspect to your game. I think this helps Woodbury in the final game too. Eastview and Rosemount are very much alike and it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Good year Eastview and good luck to the Royals in the section final!

Fienhage played as well as he could going into the game with an injured leg. During the AV game he took a puck to the back of the leg, and does not know if he might have tore something, or if it is severely bruised. I give Eastview GREAT props. They played as weel as they could, but in then end they couldnt pull it off. They had an excellent season and Good luck to Perry and Fienhage with their next couple of months!
