Roseau 3-0.

Just watched my kid's team lose the district game that would have sent them to regionals - to a team we dominated twice in league play. Doubt Roseau will do the 'no show' (as our kids did) but a few key kids get sick and you never know...

That would be a pretty good trick because the game is in St. Cloud Wednesday.
Actually, they did change it to TRF. It even says so on the MSHSL website. Not sure why they do something like that when all season long it's been set for St. Cloud.
Wow. I'm glad I didn't make plans yet to go to St. Cloud!

If Sauk Rapids would have beat Denfeld and they would have "kept it the same" Cathedral and Sauk Rapids would have had to drive to Cloquet to play each other. I would hope you can see why this is unnecessary. The reason that it was originally scheduled for St. Cloud is because that is a fairly central location for all the teams in the section other than Roseau. Since they now know that it is a Roseau Moorhead final it's not fair to Roseau to have them make a bus trip three times as far as Moorhead to play.
Goldy, I get it that having the game in TRF is probably a cheaper and shorter trip for all involved, but it still bothers me that a game's venue would be changed just a few days before it's played. I think it causes some confusion among fans who want to attend the game. And as far as it not being fair to Roseau to make them drive 3x farther for the game, I say the Spuds will need all the help they can get, so move it back to St. Cloud!!
Actually, this was in the plans all year as the Ralph was booked for it if two northern teams were in the final. MSHSL has finally smartened up and realize that they will get more fans at TRF instead of St. Cloud if it is northern teams involved due to travel. Especially this year as it had to be on a Wednesday night. Common sense prevails with the MSHSL! Unbelievable!!

Rams 5 Spuds 0. The shut out though the play-offs will continue.

Four more shut outs before the end of March for Lee would be nice. It will take a lot of great luck and focus to make that happen. Possible but not very likely.

If Rams do shutout Moorhead and score big, then Rams certainly deserve #1 seed at the X. If not, then there is sure to be lots of debate on this on the bored. The debate really does not matter though since it is the 8 final coaches opinions that matter and they probably do not pay much attention here anyway.

Thats right, Everyone was included in this decision, Section 8 talked with all athletic directors and coaches and came up with this decision if there where northern teams in the final. Nice to see them putting there heads togather.

After this year's super bowl and last year's Spuds-Rams clash, I am careful not to write off Moorhead. But, I just remembered they lost 9 games this year. I had to look that up: the most since the 1999 Spuds lost 10.

Rams 5-2.

Its simple economics at work.

TRF is a great place to have the final since two northern teams are and will be there for the next couple of years, but it would be nice if the semi-finals would be in St. Cloud so some of us could see the northern teams play locally atleast once..

I would say 2 or 3 to nothing, nobody seems to score on mike lee, and I do think it will be a fairly close game, look for Moorhead to be pumped up.

Rams by a couple with a shutout

So once and for all, who knows for sure where the game will be played? in the St. Cloud paper this morning it said St. Cloud at the National Hockey Center. By the way Goldy, if Sauk Rapids woudlnt have lost, they would have played Cathedral at the MAC here in St. Cloud because SR and Cathedral agreed to that at the section meeting. If Roseau and Moorhead agreed to play at the Ralph in TRF, that is there choice...so I am guessing that since those two teams are in the final, the game will be at the Ralph..makes more sense for their fans as much as I would love to watch Roseau put on a clinic at SCSU...

Gotta give him credit for being creative. Us Spuds fans have to have our fun now since the end of the season for our team is only a couple of days away now, right?

If the Rams play their game and get ahead early - they could win by 4 goals.......

Moorhead will be no slouch, but the Rams are in high gear and eager to return to state!

Go Rams!!

FYI, Various congregations in Roseau have re-scheduled their traditional Wednesday night Lenten Services for Tuesday night to allow the Ram faithful to go to the Section 8AA final with a clear conscience. Maybe that gives the Big Guy the night off as well to cheer for his favorite team, whomever that may be! :P

This game doesn't have nearly the buzz it did last year.

I always thought that going out onto the ledge after a tough loss was a figure of speech, with the absence of most of Moorhead this year, I'm beginning to wonder.

It could be their finest moment and the only orange & black around here are PR fans.

See the up for grabs thread, the Moorhead ringleader abandoned them right after the Spuds lost last year. Just hopped on the train that was heading south. I guess some people would rather be associated with a winner than have a shred of integrity.

Ahem!! I for one am still and will always be a fan of the orange and black and I'd like nothing better than to see them win Wednesday night. I'm just a realist and it's not hard to see that it's Roseau's time. Yeah, some people will mention the Giants over the Patriots as an example that huge upsets can happen. They just don't happen that often and I don't see it happening this time.

Taters-3
Sheep - 2

Upset special! taking into account....
1) Spuds surging lately
2) Rams weak schedule (admit it......)
3) FINALLY determined a starting goalie who is on fire
4) the history between these teams (neither has swept a 3 game season series before)
5) Blaine, who is good but not great this year, played them close
6) underdog status for the first time in a loooooooong time (in sections)
7) If I am wrong, I am just an overly enthusiastic fan, if I am right I am a GENIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
