Where are the towns of Hill-Murray, St. Thomas Academy, and Cretin-Derham Hall? I checked the map and can't seem to find them.

If you go downtown St. Paul in March you can usually find them there.
As for "old school" rivalry, my fav was Harding/Johnson.
Excellent "old School" Prideguy...
Same vein...
SSP/Johnson
Falls/Roseau
Roseau/Johnson
Eveleth/Johnson
Fun stuff, to be true hockey fans, we have to acknowledge where we started...

Or in the case of Hill-Murray, you'll also find them in on the campus of the U of M in Minneapolis during March as well!
Still don't know where the town of St. Thomas Academy is though.
Which is better...play at the U in March, or turn in your jersey in Feb? Pretty tough for a first round section loser to be taking shots at a state tourney team. Must be the Johnson motto..."If ya can't beat em, shoot em"!

Still hurts, huh?

Sorry buddy, I forgot about the notorious Pioneer thin skin. Better luck against Section 1 this season!

Thanks so much for the well wishes. Enjoy the long off season which always seems to start weeks earlier than most.

Not a problem. I always look forward to hearing each year's set of new Pioneer excuses.

I always love these. I'd have to say Mora and Cambridge. They hate each other...

As an old Rum River guy, I would have been fun to see Mora, Cambridge, and Princeton back together in the Mississippi 8. But Princeton and Cambridge are growing too fast for Mora, and the rivalry has simmered. Because neither town is in "hockey country", it was a vicious basketball and football rivalry. The two towns hate each other, but it is not a "top rivalry" anymore.
I think the best hockey rivalry is Roseau/Warroad.

No excuses here...we are at state once again! Much to the dismay of many like yourself....you look great in your shade of green.
We are once again one of the teams still being talked about, written about, and most importantly, being considered by future pioneer families. People with talented hockey players will see that HM is once again living the high school dream of playing in the nation's best tourney and will consider having their child enroll. The cycle continues. You see, as wonderful as winning it all is, getting the opportunity to live the dream is what makes hockey player migrate to our program. Success breeds success, clearly something Johnson doesn't quite understand.

Being apart of Little Falls.. I'd have to say the rivalry between Little Falls and Brainerd is donw right insane.. Every game is a battle and until this year brainerd has one every matchup for at least 7 years but there always good games and usually ends with fights in the crowd and big brawls in the parking lots.. to speak of some instances.. People driving through the brainerd parking lot raming cars, and having a student beat within inches of his life.. but it seems everygame the fans have to be escorted out of the arena at different ends, followed by police.

Didn't I say something about thin skin? Another Pioneer who just doesn't get it. You poor, poor kid without a sense of humor. One day young man, one day.
Even though the Govs' hockey season is over, I'll be looking forward to watching a Governor help to establish potential NFL rushing records next season for the hometown club... And probably watching the Govs basketball team roll over HM in the section tournament on their way to a 3rd straight state tourney appearance there... It'll be as enjoyable as watching the Governors finish 5 games better than the pathetic Pioneer football team. But oh yeah, all there is to life is hockey.
See, the down side of section realignment is that we drew a tough hockey section... the upside is that we're in with HM in everything else and can expose them for the frauds they are! You win some, you lose some (like first round tourney appearances, right PPG?!

).

Win a section game for heaven's sake before trying to rip a section champion. All this hockey tournament talk really doesn't involve you...

When was a student beaten within inches of his life

I think the Fergus Falls and Little Falls rivalary has gotten pretty bad as of late. This past season I walk past the visitors section at the Ex-Change Arena when the Flyers were playing the Otters wearing my Flyer hoody and I almost had to cover my ears because the Fergus fans were yelling such obscenities at me.

Taking shots? Because Hill isn't a city he's taking shots? Well now I'm pissed, because apparently people have been taking shots at Centennial for years and I didn't know enough to be offended!

Absolutely. Is, was and probably always will be the best rivalry in MN hockey.

Even though they aren't the best teams on a regular basis, South St. Paul and Simley have a very big rivalry. South St. Paul has a lot of kids that live in Inver Grove and played youth hockey in IGH. It is always a very good game, alot of hits, alot of fans, and no matter how good one team is that year and how bad the other is, its always competitive.

I still gotta say Roseau and Warroad for historical sake.
Bloomington and Edina would be up there.
Duluth vs the Range or Cloquet in past years, although this has been dominated by East recently, in the Duluth respect.
I know I'm missing one bad too.

Very well said gopherhockey
Been trying to find the right words to get that obnoxious turd to shut up all season, but he doesn't seem to disappear. Wait a few posts he'll make his infamous comments to both of us.
Besides their pathetic student following, he alone has been a big factor in destroying any respect for HIS ALMIGHTY TEAM from other true hockey fans on this "bored".
