After watching Roseau have their way with a very good Blaine team, I see little hope for Hill-Murray. The transition from watching Roseau vs. Blaine to watching HM vs. LS was similar to watching a Varsity game, then a JV game. Just my very humble opinion.

Not a great game last night, but mission accomplished. It was nice knowing some people were disappointed that Hill didn't go 2-out again this year. Hill will have to play much better tonight to make it a game. Roseau looked like a fine oiled machine last night. But as we all know, machines have been know to breakdown from time to time. Not sure if tonight will be one of those times, but I'm hoping so. Good luck boys!

I hope Hill's defense plays as well against Roseau as they did against WBLake. Hill also plays three full lines and Roseau tends to depend mainly on its top 2 who will get worn down by the 3rd period if the game is fast paced. I think Roseau was too focused on trying to have a shut out and made a huge mistake last night by not giving their 3rd line more ice time to prepare for the semi's.
Hill has better offense and can get around Ness, but it is Mike Lee that worries me......

Roseau's top 2 lines won't be gased by the 3rd. Roseau's coach Bill lund has them in the best shape of their lives.

Let's play devil's advocate
Roseau has proven themselves by wiping out a big metro team and is looking forward to the clash of the titans against Edina.
and Hill throws the body all night instead of a period and a half
and Hill keeps their hands to themselves to avoid lazy penalties.
We go into the third Roseau up 2-1 but Philippi is getting stronger while Hill's three lines and body work is wearing on Roseau's two lines.
Upset in the making?
The head says no but if Roseau doesn't put Hill away early...

The 3rd period I watched had the 3rd line as well as the 4th line playing regular shifts in fact the 3rd line played the whole game other than during penalties.

After Roseau's 5th goal, i think it was, 3rd line was out their regularly...soo if that's the reason u think HM's offense is better...then more power to you, and even more power to the Ram's..

I saw the 3rd and 4th line out there a lot in that 3rd period--and, a couple of times, some strange assortments of players (that could have been due to penalties, though...).
Actually, I thought the Rams were looking kinda sloppy in that third period. They certainly should have cleared the puck away from the net before that 2nd goal...

They'll have to tighten it up a bit.

I agree - Hill may have played down to the Section 1 level, but it almost seemed like Roseau was just toying with Blaine the 2nd half...

Did you watch the same game as me? Roseau was running its third line in the first and continued through the game. They ran the 4th in the third. Also did you not hear them talking about how the 3rd line had really come together for Roseau late in the season. Hill has there hands full in this game and they know it. Moorhead gave Hill all it wanted and then some wait till this Rams team is done with them......6-1 Rams win easy

Sorry to rattle any cages. I should have said that they should have played 3 lines with equal rotation to give their top two lines better breaks.

For the most part they did. Only time the 3rd line didnt see the ice was on the power play and penelty kill. Just happened that there was alot of special teams play in the 1st and 2nd. Ness played alot but he was skateing with the top 3 lines like he has all season long. The kid has a motor that dont stop running. Believe me, Roseau isnt going to be wore out by anyone thats still alive in this tourney, however they may tire afew teams makeing them chase the puck

I have not been impressed with HM the couple of times that I have seen them play, particularly last night. They don't seem to be a typical HM team built around speed and puck movement. They will probably be more physical with Roseau than Blaine was (if they can catch them) but I'm not sure they are in the same league as far as team speed and skill. The do have a goalie that is capable of keeping them in the game or even stealing the game. But, based on what I saw of both teams last night, Roseau should win. Also, Roseau played their 3rd and 4th lines last night; in fact, there were times they were against Blaine's top line and controlled the play.

I remember hearing stories of the old time days when Roseau only had one line, and they played the entire game. That would have been tough even with much shorter periods.

Lakeville's goalie gave up three goals and was one of the stars of the game. If Hill had 31 shots on the goalies that were playing for Blaine it would've been more like 8 or 9 to nothing.
