I would change that "most" statement to "some". Take a look around the state and not just in the metro. There are a lot of really good 97 players who do not feel the need to worship at the alter of Bernie or the Blades.
Nicely said CM. What's with the blinders. They do play pretty good hockey North of Blaine.

Oh my, so your name is Billy. And Lassie told
me Timmy just fell down the well. I'm just sure they're going to give a Freshman in college a team. You kill me. You're a Rosemount dad. Get a life - PLEASE.

I hope you are kidding about which team you coach, based on another post by bash brother 55 he is the assistant coach. Are you the same person? Last year the coach was the old JV coach for Rosemount?
sorry I'am really confused. Why are you so into this team?
I think MRBILL IS ON TO SOMETHING. How many people on here are you. Maybe your mr bill and your just arguing with yourself.

Have you ever seen a team with more than one coach?
We are both coaching.
I mostly work with the goalies.
Drop by a practice. We will introduce ourselves.

tomuchtoosoon, how can you say the kids are under exclusive contacts, they are 11 year old kids who's parents pay there way on these teams. And yes I am one of those.

The best 97's? How many 97's made top PeeWee A & B teams in the metro area? I think this would show the top players at this age group, since half the 97's will still be playing squirts due to birthdate. I know Northern MN has quite a few 97 PeeWee's due to lower overall numbers. But, 45+ games with contact will have a huge impact come summer AAA.

Rosemount does have good 97's like... Charlie Weiland, Sam Rossini, and many others... almost there whole team
Top 97's

UND,
I think Rosemount has a very good squirt team, but the topic is top '97's. One of the kids you listed is a '98 and the other is OK, but not one of the top 97's. By top, I mean top 40 kids. There are better 97's on your own team. Most of the best '97's are playing Peewee A this year. There are only a handful of squirt eligable '97 that I would even put in the conversation. Most of them play on the '97 fire this winter or the Blades and Machine in the summer.

Hey guys I hear there is this kid named Charley Smith, he's 3 years old and can already crossover backwards!!! yesterday I saw a penguins scout watching him, he's projected to go 6th overall in the 2025 draft!!! Wow, seriously guys? 97's? Wow. And by the way if you are going to talk about 97's, talk about edina. Look how good their squirt A team was last year.

Problem with Charley is, he's a one-way player and he needs to grow into his frame. He's awfully tall for a kid his age. Some time in the weight room will help prepare him for the higher levels when he starts checking.

C'mon everyone....this age group is coming of age in this forum. It's their time now. For this forum... '93s are done, '94s are pratically over, and '95s are near over. Time to focus on '96s and '97s.
Important questions for the blog:
What late '97s have been moved up to PW and are there any that have proven themselves?
What first year PW '97s are dominating vs. second year 96s?

This is really stupid...97's are just starting to play and experience hockey as it is intended - with checking. They have not arrived as players as there is much development left in ALL their games.
Are you looking to have your name (or kids) name in lights... go ahead and blurt out how great you are! Maybe a special Fan Club will follow..
Give these players until Bantams before you start making comparisons - a lot changes as the years progress. 97's ... SERIOUSLY!

Not sure if this kid is a late 97 or early 98 but Danny Petaruski of SSP move up from squirts to play PWB-1 and lead them in scoring (45pts I think) . Big kid that can really skate.

Half of your 97's played squirts last year. Way too early to tell.
As the boys grow and get stronger and faster, your smaller, better kids (from squirts and pee wees) start to come back to the pack.
It may be fun to banter about sure, but check back when the 97's are 1st & 2nd year banatms and you'll start to see the pecking order become more clear.

You don't have to wait til Bantams to see that kids like Rem that dominate as first year peewees are most likely going to be good players later on .. any kid that can make that jump and compete at the top level is worth talking about. Although size does matter if you can't hit what you can't catch and they are smart players they will be good at any level.
