Stillwater is capable of beating many good teams this year. They have very good goaltending and are balanced everywhere else. They don't really have any "superstars" but also don't need them. If they consistently put together 51 solid, hardworking minutes they are a tough team to beat. Great win Ponies! Beat the Bears in their own barn.... that HAD to sting a bit...

Papa Bergundy, Stillwater has three losses this year. They lost to Roseville who is on top of the SEC at 3-0, Woodbury who is a top 10 team and the 4-0 score did not resemble how close the game was, and Rogers which was a dissapointment. Also, they tied Hastings who believe it or not has been in almost every game they have played mostly because of their goalie. So if you would like to expand on your reasoning that would be great.

Well you did that for me. And I'm not an avid Stillwater follower, I just look at the box scores. So, by the measure it would be hard to disagree.

And I'm still right, beat WBL and BSM, lose to Rogers and tie Hastings. Is that not the definition of inconsistency?

yes stillwater has also had an interesting year so far but the only big shocker to me was the WBL game. BSM on paper seems like an upset but i think BSM is very over rated. every other game has been at least believable.

Papa: I believe the same reasoning would apply to any team involved in competitive sports...hot one day, cold the next (look at the Vikes or Wild). Why play any sport if winning and/or losing is a foregone conclusion? Come on folks...let these kids play, compete, and grow, without putting a negative stamp on every bump in the road, for any given program.

Just to add to everybody's posts about how WBL is inconsistent. It sounds like you guys are saying they played bad. I attended the game and WBL definitely showed up to play, but Stillwater was more determined and it showed at the end of the game.

I beg to differ, I thought WB skated like they had lead in thier skates. I don't know if you saw the Centenial or the Holy Angels games or not, but they skated much faster. I had heard that most of the team had the flu for the Minnetonka game, that would explain alot.

I saw the Stillwater/WB game too and came away thinking that WB is just not as good as they've been in past years! Simple as that.... I think they're going to continue to have an OK season... nothing spectacular. Goaltending is not there this year. They simply got beat by a hardworking, balanced Stillwater team that was "on" and had good goaltending. Yeah, WB has a good team but certainly no "superstars" there. jmho :D

I agree with backofthenet, I don't think WBL played a terrible game, but they definitely didn't play they way they can and did against Centennial and Holy Angels... anyone who saw either of those games saw a totally different team than the Stillwater game. White Bear can be a really good team, they just need to be more consistent.

Goaltending is not there this year? As opposed to the last couple years where they had the same goalie? I would agree Collette hasn't played that well but he's been there goalie the last couple years also.
