{100th point last night} Nelson and Waytashek. This team has been getting stronger, they are a far better team then they were the last time
these two teams met. If Sperl is on Alex doesn't have a prayer.
Last night at the Willmar game Little Falls had only one penalty.
They need to play that style of hockey to win.
They had 1 penalty? Are you kidding? I didn't think that was possible from this team. Don't they average 5+ a game?

one(not so good)move, I do not keep a list, but it has been tried, with the winning percentage LF has over the last 3 years, it would be difficult to say that a shadow has worked. Alex has had difficulty scoring in the past, this year is better, however, I would D up and hope Hemmingway has a good game, or church is out. LF is not a 1 line team, do your research, look at pointstreak, they have 4 forwards with 20+ points and one with 12, Alex has 2 twenty +, one at 19 and one at 12, plus a couple D that can score. LF has the firepower, Alex better bring the goalie. But the Sperl kid has looked pretty impressive against Alex. If I were a Flyer fan, I would ask for the shadow.

Stealth-what teams, and did they have the depth that the Alex team has? The plan is to slow that line AKA Ben to 2-3 goals let the rest of the team take care of finding the points.
Didn't Ben just have 2 goals and
5 ASSISTS in a game?
Ya weather he finds the net or feeds others it sounds like he's the man. Im not trying to take away from Bergland Nelson and Waytashek or anyone else but of the nine goals against FF Bens involvment is 7 points goals or assists. That 78% of total points.

Hey stitches I will try and do my studies but it seems you have done your homework. Maybe you can tell me what % of points belong to that top line? I overheard Couture talking at a summer tourney in Faribault not last summer the summer before and BH JF BH line (I think it was) had put up a unbelievably lopsided amount of total points...??

It's going to be a good game. It wouldn't surprise me if LF came in and was slow in the first period as they have done in the past. If Alex can make it through the first with the lead they have a chance. Most of this year LF has been a 2nd period team and i don't expect that to change. LF will win and it's only gonna take three periods this time. LF 5 Alex 2

I dont know why everyone in this thread acts like little falls is god's gift to earth. Yes they are a good team and so is alex. Little Falls has more scoring power, and that is proven. Alex has the better goalie and defensive team, and that is proven. Bottom line is this will be a great game. And for the record the first game did not go into overtime, little falls scored late in the game.
The previous game was very even, this one will be to. I dont think it will be a 4 goal game game like some are predicting.

Better goalie yes, better defensive team NO!

Alex may have the better goalie overall, but not in the big game. The games where Alex needs hemingway the most he hasn't come up big enough. Sperl has come up big every single game against alex. That is a fact!

Little Falls has proved that its possible to beat a team 3 times in a year, i.e. last year, as for alex hemmingway is going to flop like he did last year at sections little falls takes this one.
Little Falls 5
Alex 1
WITH scoring by Hirsch, nelson, and yep im calling it!.. the third installment to the Johnny Hano squad.. Joey Hanowski with a Goal!

This was my thought on how to beat Little Falls initially, however, it ain't gonna work. Alexandria to win the game is going to have to step up and play physical. Hit back when hit. Alex is going to have to come out strong, get ahead and then burry it. Yes, they need strong defense , but they'll have to score too. I don't like the shadow thing anymore, I like a good physical team defensive scheme, rather than to single out a player to beat LF. Should be a good game...still too close to call.

I think if they play smart and stay out of the box they will be ok, the one penalty they did have last night Willmar took advantage and scored.

If Alex is as legit as folks say they are, they should take care of business at home. We'll see if there is more than one legit team in the section tonight. There hasn't been more than one for a few years now. I'm sticking with my prediction, but I think this one will be a barn-burner.

Mite-dad your prediction may be correct - It will be fun to see how this one is played. Either way its should be worth the drive, get there early Alex has alot of seating but ill bet they'll fill the barn.

Onemove, I am not a Flyer fan, just interested. I'm a milk truck driver from Roscoe, but I scout for the Philadelphia Flyers in my off hours. The shadow would be fine, one less guy for the rest to worry about. Yes, LF is top heavy in scoring, but show me the teams that are in the top 10 - 15 in either A or AA that are not getting all their scoring from the top line and some from line 2. Why wouldn't a team like LF ride a stud horse like Hanowski? I think the job is to win games. By the way, what does it matter how many goals the line 2 seasons ago scored?

1 player can single handedly effect a game if you let him; if Alex plays a good defensive system Ben H. can't single beat them on his own, however, if he is that great of a player he will see that and feed his team mates and will still impact the game.
I like Little Falls will be too much for Alex to handle for 3 periods, heck Alex might even lead going into 3 but they won't win. Little Falls from their record look to finish really strong. Should be a good game.

Ask anyone that has seen him play, he is unselfish player, which I think will make him a great player through his hockey career.

It is the same situation a 2 seasons ago and I'm not sure but I would guess they would be at the very top of the list for a top heavy team. Well a couple off posts ago you said: one(not so good)move it would be difficult to say that a shadow has worked -today : a shadow would be fine, tomorrow I should be right on track?? When I say shadow Ben it's not just to prevent him from finding the twine it's feeding his line as well. Look at it this way -- its two games going on, LF top Line and Alex top shadowing (Ben) the other two linemates they can control a little easier. That game you expect to lose 0-2 or 0-3.(damage control) Now the second game is LF line 2 and some 3 depending on how much ice they see. Alex wins this game by 3-0 or 4-0. Make any sense? If you think I anywhere said not to ride a stud horse like Ben that's NOT correct. I would make him skate another 5 min of the 10 he's off the ice in a game. And i will say this is NOT NOT the NHL your standouts DO standout still. The next level you probably won't notice him, go watch a St. Cloud State game, JF he sure blends now but I'm sure will shine again in a few years. But scout for the Phil Flyers maybe I should change my mind??-- well lets wait til tomorrow I may be right on with you. (((Hey this site is just for fun and its just opinions, if I coached and I DON'T, this is what I would try, after the game I may think wow that flopped but with the Alex team I think they are a little different than others that have tried??????? This game is worth the drive..
